Review Body: Samantha and his family took great care of us. We stayed for one night, enjoyed tea by the lake on our arrival followed by an incredible home cooked rice and curry dinner. Rooms are basic but very clean with large beds and everything you need for a nights stay. Up early at 5am for the safari and Samantha really knows his stuff, we were 4th inline to get in and it paid off with sighting of elephants within 3 minutes of entering the park. We spotted tons of elephants, crocs, various bird species, deer and even some rare jackals, this man has eagle eyes! Would definitely recommend doing the safari with Samantha and staying here if you're in the area, incredible spot!

Review Body: This was a lovely homestay, the place was immaculate, the price was so cheap, in a really nice spot on the lake, they had pushbikes you could take out unfortunately we did not have time as arrived at lunchtime then had a safari booked for 2pm. The Safari was great seen lots of wildlife, Samantha who runs the homestay runs his own safari, so book through the homestay. His wife and sister-in-law make all the food, which was delicious and so much food for dinner and breakfast, I felt really bad as I was still food from dinner and could hardly eat any of the breakfast. I would definitely recommend.

Review Body: Stay here! I am a female travelling alone and was looking for a safe, clean place to stay while in the area. I found it. splendid Lakeview safari lodge was a great place to base myself while visiting the close by Uda Walawe national park. The rooms were clean and spacious, the food was great, Samantha and his wife went out of there way to organise my transport for the next day, and the house is on the lake which is very nice. I went for a big walk on my own in the morning and felt totally safe in the area and did a safari with Samantha which was awesome! I would definitely stay here again.

Review Body: It was the ideal place for us to relax and spend a great time in front of a really splendid lake view. Hospitality of host Samantha & family was admirable. Two rooms we booked were spacious and comprised all we need like clean & large beds, AC & hot water. Staff was very efficient and all the foods were delicious. Had a great time swimming & fishing in the lake. Also can have a boat ride there with life jackets too. Must say that all the things are really affordable and highly recommended for every sort of trips.

Review Body: We decided spontaniously to go to Udawalawe. We booked this accommondation because it was mentioned at our travel guide book (S. Loose) . It is even better. Prices and service are still very good. The room is clean and has A/C. We booked the 4 hours morning safari with Samantha the owner. The tour starts early, 5:30 a.m. but do it! See Review of Udawalawe national park. After the tour we had a big breakfast before we hunted further. WLAN is running very well. If you stay there given Samantha my greetings.

Review Body: Had a really nice stay here! People are lovely, room was spacious, nice and clean, location is cool and the safari was really really good. The only thing was when I asked her about the safari she gave me the price for an individual one, while already two people "signed up" at here place (they told me), so it would be cheaper for me to join them, but she didn't tell at first. But at the and I díd join them and I couldn't have think of a better safari!

Review Body: Accommodation with great relation quality / money. Very close to the Udawalawe National Park. The owners were extremely friendly and attentive! We stayed just one night but we had time to taste an awsome home made sri lankan dinner and, in the morning, to do a 4h safari with Samantha (one of the owners). We saw lots of animals.. elephants, buffalos, crocodiles, deers, lizards and dozens of diferent birds! Very nice experience! Thank you.

Review Body: We had two nights here with a 5 am safari start. Room was simple but fine. The food we had was lovely with generous portions. Staff were super efficient and friendly. We had safari with Samantha who was great. Apart from the animals he would also spot many birds. The seven hour safari with packed breakfast was great value. Please support this great husband and wife team with their business.

Review Body: Rooms are nice and clean, hot shower, next to a beautiful lake which you can swim in, good WiFi. Family are lovely. Evening meal was huge and delicious. The owner takes you on safari and the price is very reasonable, the experience is fantastic. Would highly recommend this place. Is a little out of town but a short tucktuck, or we got a bus which dropped us at the end of the road.

Review Body: Nice little guest house in a very peaceful location. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Loved the little lake that's attached to the property, super nice for a refreshing swim. They served delicious food and also organized a fantastic safari in the morning. They can put you together with other guests to bring the costs down for everyone. All in all, a great experience!

Review Body: The couple who runs the lodge is really friendly and helpful. They prepare a huge and delicious dinner and breakfast for a good price and offer a fascinating safari in uda walawe national park. The location of the lodge is perfect, as it's just next to the lake where you can take a swim. The rooms are clean and you can choose between rooms with a/c or without.

Review Body: Stayed for one night prior to safari in Udawalawe. I booked the room with air conditioning, happy that I did and it worked great. Room was clean. The owners were extremely welcoming. We had dinner there and it was amazing. Also booked the safari from them, very affordable and was excellent. There is a lake out back that you can swim in as well.

Review Body: Me and my friend stayed at the guesthouse for one night, before going on safari with Danushka (the owners brother) the next day. Samantha was very welcoming and hospitable, collecting us from the bus stop in Udawalawa. Rooms were comfortable and the meal prepared for dinner was delicious. Ideal stay for those visiting Udawalawe National Park.

Review Body: With a location comfortably living up to its name, SLVGH has great rooms, great hosts, serves great food and offers great safaris. You can swim and fish in the lake and if you get a chance, take the bikes and follow the river in either direction, or just chug around the lanes. Good value and very highly recommended.

Review Body: The guesthouse is run by a woman and her husband. You can do the morning or evening Safari within the accommodation. Her husband is the perfect guide and will explain you a lot of things while visiting the nationalpark. Behind the guesthouse is a lake you can go swim.

Review Body: The family who run this homestay are just lovely - very friendly & welcoming. We took a safari with Madushi which was great - we saw loads of elephants and Madu was a good driver pointing out to us things to look at whilst driving us around. The food at the homestay is excellent and we ate all our meals there - they do great rice & curry which includes a good variety of vegetable dishes alongside the curry. Internet worked well and the room we had was clean. Madu was also able to arrange us a good price on our transport to Kandy. The main thing we struggled with was the heat - it was really intense. Our room had a fan but it desperately needed air-con. The only other downside is the location as there is little else around once you have done the safari.

Review Body: Hostel was clean and located on the lake. Food was amazing and freshly prepared. Perfect for 1 nights stay. Safari organised by the Lodge was good and affordable. TIP: Driver could drive slower and improve knowledge of the wildlife. Impressive that the Lodge advised us to go very early so we were first ones into the park, this proved to be worthwhile
