Truly such a brilliant experience, and both Agung and Ayoob who picked us up and took us for the jeep tour were incredibly friendly, and so engaging. Ayoob took beautiful photos of my husband and I and Agung even shared an edited video of our trip after. Highly recommend anyone visiting Yogyakarta to go for this tour of Mt Merapi!

Travelled a couple of hours in a spacious and comfortable car to the Kintamani area, then transferred to a jeep for a short ride to a private high ground to wait for the sunrise. Agus, our jeep driver and guide, helped us take beautiful photos and even lent me a tripod to capture a timelapse video of the sunrise. This was followed by a ride through the black lava fields, where he shared extensive knowledge of the area and led us on a walk around the site. The tour was rounded off with a short boat ride on the caldera lake before heading back to Kuta. Thumbs up.

Absolutely loved every second of the trip! Justin and the team made everything seamless, from picking us up at the hotel to dropping us back at the end. The drive to Kintamani was smooth. Yosi handled the uphill route so well we didn’t feel carsick at all and felt completely safe. Agus was amazing. He took us to a tiny, secluded viewpoint with incredible views of Mount Batur, Mount Abang, and even Mount Rinjani. Even with the clouds, his knowledge about the area’s history, geology, and local life made the experience so enriching. The black lava field was breathtaking, and it was incredible to learn it’s protected as a UNESCO site. Wi, our captain on the lake, shared fascinating insights about local beliefs and how people live sustainably with the land while we cruised past the temple. They also went out of their way to help us get great photos. Absolute professionals, I’d recommend this trip 100%!

We had such an amazing experience! We've been to Bali countless times but this is our first time at Mt Batur and our drivers, Yosi and Agus, were brilliant guides, sharing the beautiful area with us. Brekkie was simple and kept us warm in the cool weather. The mother/daughter duo who delivered the breakfast were a joy to be with! And the boat ride! And the lava sand. All SO GOOD.

We absolutely loved our Jeep trip with Seek Sophie!! We had the sunrise spot completely to ourselves, and our Jeep driver, Agus, was super knowledgeable about the area and was so happy to take lot of cool photos of us with the Jeep. The black lava and black sand experience felt like we were on another planet, and it was such a unique experience to see, we loved chatting with the locals as well! Finally we finished with a short boat ride on lake Batur where we got more incredible views and got to see and learn about the Hindu temple on the lake from our boat driver! We used Seek Sophie twice during our Bali trip and the Mount Batur Jeep sunrise adventure was one of our absolute favourites. We were staying in Ubud and had a private transfer with Ayu, who was so sweet and made the early morning start feel easy. Once we arrived, our jeep driver Arman took us up to the sunrise viewpoint. He was skilled, friendly, and made the ride a lot of fun. Watching the sunrise over Mount Batur from the jeep was unforgettable and completely worth waking up early for. After the adventure, we visited the nearby hot spring which was the perfect way to relax and warm up. The whole experience was seamless, well organised, and a real highlight of our trip.
