Review Body: This was a fabulous trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels... and much, much more! Meeting Nhung and her family and visiting the farm was one of the highlights of our Vietnam trip. We learned a lot about Vietnam, the family's personal experiences of the war, and how they transformed the land afterwards. We ate delicious homecooked food, visited an authentic local market and tried Vietnamese fruits and other delicacies. The farm is in an idyllic location and we had a tour of the farm and even collected duck eggs and peanuts! The Cu Chi tunnels part of the day was also very interesting, thorough, and thought provoking. We went down to level two of the tunnels which was quite an experience! Going through the tunnels is optional but we highly recommend it. After the tunnels we came back to the farm and had a ride around the local countryside - another lovely experience. We recommend this tour really highly. If you want something more than a standard big-group tour then this is for you! Huge thanks to Nhung and her family for an amazing day!

Review Body: This is a MUST DO! It has genuinely been the best part of our Vietnam trip. Nhung is one of the nicest people we’ve ever met and getting to know her, her mom, sisters and nephew in their home setting was just SO special. And the food, the food the food the food, just so much of it that her mom and sisters cook for you. She also took us to the market and said to pick out all the fruits we’ve never seen or tried before and she bought it all so we can try. Of course, her explanation of the war, and her family’s history with it made the tour experience unlike other tours we’ve done. Unfortunately you don’t get to see the delta market, but honestly, it didn’t matter given all the other things we experience in this tour. I wish I had asked her to give us a tour of her family farm, so recommend you ask if you’re interested. Do this tour, you will not regret it!!!!!

Review Body: I did this incredible tour with my mum. Our guide, Nyung, and her family, made this the most special experience of our stay in Vietnam. We started the day at a local market where we got to see food and fruit we had never seen before. We then went on to have the most delicious breakfast at Nyung's mum's house. Yum! The Cu Chi tunnels were very eye-opening and having a local guide made such a difference to get an idea of the monumental impact the war had in this region. This was followed by another (!) delicious meal with Nyung and her family followed by a traditional game. It was so special to meet her family who went out of their way to be welcoming and so kind. The food was also the best we had in Vietnam by a long way. Could not reccomend more highly. Thank you.

Review Body: Nhung meticulously planned a truly unforgettable experience. We drove out to her mother’s farmhouse, stopped at a local market, ate a healthy, delicious Vietnamese breakfast with her extended family, not only did we visit the Cu Chi tunnels, Nhung patiently described each installation. We then went back to her house for lunch, seeing the extended family again felt like we were at home. After lunch she brought us on a bike ride to the canals, again patiently explaining how they were hand dug. Before we left, we ate fruits we had picked up in the market. Nhung and her family went out of their way to make us feel like family while sharing their experiences during wartime and afterward, while also learning about their beautiful farm, I highly recommend this experience.

Review Body: An exceptional experience we will recommend over and over again. An incredibly moving and special day we will remember and treasure forever thanks to Nhung and her family. Words can’t adequately describe how much we appreciated Nhung and her family’s warm hospitality and kind hearts. We learned so much from Nhung — her country’s history, her experiences growing up, a story of resilience and determination. We got to tour her family’s incredible farm, learn from her as we explored the tunnels and other historical sites, enjoy delicious home cooked food in her family home, and cycle around her childhood village. We are so lucky to be able to learn this way and to now know Nhung and to have her as a friend

Review Body: Adding on the growing list of glowing reviews. Count your lucky stars if managed to score a slot with Miss Nhung. Came for Cu Chi tunnel, left with round tummy and even fuller heart. Hands down the highlight of HCM trip. Nhung was a great storyteller sharing deep insights of the tunnels and the wars. Nhung’s family home is what one’s dream house is: lush greenery and self-sufficient herbs/fruits and spacious compound. Nhung and her wonderful family demonstrated true warm Vietnamese hospitality. Couldn’t have ask for more. Please do yourself a favour: come starving literally for the home-cooked feast and fruits. Don’t think, just book it now!

Review Body: Had an amazing time with Nhung and her family + other trip guests. Much better than a standard tour -- we got to spend time with Nhung's family and have traditional, home-cooked Vietnamese food with most ingredients coming straight from their garden. We even picked fresh coconuts and papaya. Riding around the neighbourhood was great and Nhung had a great background/insight to really give you a good tour of the Cu Chi tunnels. Overall a great experience that I would probably do again with friends if they ever came to Vietnam. Thanks Nhung!

Review Body: This trip with Nhung felt more like being invited home by a friend than a tour guide. Nhung brings you to her family home to enjoy incredibly delicious food made by her mom and sisters, using ingredients fresh from their farm. She knows lots of information about the area, and shows you a bit of what life is like in the countryside outside of Saigon. At the Cu Chi tunnels, Nhung's family history gave the tour a deeply personal lens in addition to all the historical background. Thank you Nhung for such a special experience!

Review Body: Had a fantastic day with Camille. Firstly she was super hospitable and knowledgeable and spent a good deal of time explaining many aspects of Vietnamese culture and lifestyle as well as the Cu Chi Tunnels. She was super patient with all the questions that my 7 year old had. Also, I loved the homely experience at her home where we had breakfast and lunch with her family, really felt like home. Would strongly recommend for anyone looking to get a truly authentic local experience! Thanks Camille!

Review Body: Fantastic day and lovely small and personal group. Nhung was so friendly and welcoming and her family were lovely, attentive and very good cooks. We would not have been able to fit in another bite and that was not through lack of trying....the food just kept coming. We had a great tour through cu chi tunnels and saw a lot more than what I had on a previous visit. Finished the day with more food then a lovely bike ride along the canals. Thank you for a lovely day.

She will share so much with you about her and her family's life, her mum will spoil you with amazing home cooked meals and great coffee. This experience is so much more than a trip to the tunnels, it's about personal connections and making unforgettable memories. Dont look any further, book it now!

Review Body: My family truly enjoyed the local home made food prepared by Cam’s family. It was delicious and healthy. Her family welcomed us with warm hospitality. We were surprised when they gave us drinks with a personalized bamboo straw crafted with our names on it. It’s the personal touch that made us felt so warm and happy. My kids also love the Cu Chi Tunnel tour and get to experience what’s really like to walk through the tunnel during the war times.

Rare chance to see Cu Chi tunnels through the eyes of the local community.
Most people visit Cu Chi Tunnels as a quick half-day trip - crawl through a tunnel, take a few photos, and head back to Ho Chi Minh City. It's interesting but it's shallow. This experience takes you deeper. You experience Cu Chi with a family who lived through the war. Instead of just seeing the tunnels, you’ll hear first-hand stories of what life was like, and how the community rebuilt from a landscape so damaged that not even a single tree could grow. You’ll explore the tunnels with a guide whose family has deep roots here, then head above ground to see what Cu Chi looks like today. Cycle through quiet villages and farmland that were once bombed out, and get a glimpse of daily life that most visitors miss.Along the way, you’ll spend time with locals — including a village grandma who’ll show you how to make rice paper from scratch. Then cook and enjoy a simple, home-style meal together (yes, you’ll be making your own spring rolls). It’s a slower, more personal way to understand Cu Chi HighlightsExplore Cu Chi with a family who lived through the warHear personal stories you won’t find in museumsCycle through villages rebuilt from barren landLearn rice paper making from a local grandmaCook and enjoy a home-style Vietnamese mealGood to KnowThis itinerary includes a cycling section—children should be able to ride a bike confidently to joinWear comfortable shoes and clothing for cyclingBe prepared for a day of adventure and discoveryBring your camera to capture the unique moments

Lerne deinen Gastgeber kennen
