Review Body: We had an amazing 2 day “Nature Lover” private tour with Hunter. We were lucky enough to see wild elephants on our first day! Truly a highlight of our trip and, frankly, of my entire life!
Hunter is friendly, humorous and has superb knowledge of the park, the animals and all of their habits. The tour was extremely thoughtfully planned with walks in the shady forest during hot parts of the day and seeing less shady areas during the early morning or later afternoon hours, a good 10km of hiking per day. Hunter always made sure we had the right amount of rest and water, as well as well-timed meal breaks at food stalls in the park (prices about 50-120 baht per person per meal). We stayed at the lodge in the park, which was basic, but clean and comfortable (no bedbugs and we didn’t see any roaches). Hunter had carefully planned and prepared the routes through the park and while we were a bit unlucky on the second day, when most animals seemed to be hiding, we got to see many different types of forest and breathtaking viewpoints. For each hike (max 3.5 hours) you bring just what you need for that hike, you can leave the rest of your stuff in Hunter’s SUV.
We saw elephants, hornbills, gibbons, a civet cat, porcupines, lots of deer, and even a venomous krait (at night, from a safe distance in the car!!!) and we really enjoyed our time with Hunter. Highly recommended! My mother is planning a trip to Thailand and I’ll definitely tell her to do this tour. Thank you, Hunter!

Review Body: Deaw knows these areas like the palm of his hands and walking on truly off beaten paths with no one to disturb us will remain one of the highlights of our vacation in Thailand. During our 2-day stay unfortunately we didn't see any elephants, despite Deaw's best efforts and visiting several spots they might frequent (including lesser known ones, which were admittedly a challenge to get to, if you are not used to trekking, also beware of ticks!), but we knew the risks, the national park is large, and there are no guarantees, you'd have to visit a zoo for that. However this only encourages me to return again in the future, perhaps in a different season.

Review Body: Khao Yai is absolutely worth a visit if you are in Thailand and interested in nature, and this is a great company to show you around. Deaw is a master of the forest. He is very in tune with the environment. I have no idea how he spotted some of the animals...he found a binturong resting in a tree that I never would have seen on my own. Also saw elephants, many gibbons, snakes and scorpions, hedgehogs, foxes, deer, a rare banded kingfisher (also an incredible spot by Deaw). He arranged transportation and I stayed overnight in one of the park's simple but comfortable cabins (hot water shower!). Don't hesitate to book a trip with Khao Yai and beyond!

Review Body: Khao Yai National Park was great! Weather was cooling and I had the best sleep in the lodge. There’s hot water shower too. Deaw is very good at spotting the wildlife animals. We saw a binturong, kingfisher, elephants, gibbons, snakes, scorpions, jackals and hornbills. He could even identify the type of hornbills by their sounds. It was a great 2D1N trip! Thank you Deaw~

Rare chance to stay inside Khao Yai National Park
Please Note: although you can select up to 11 persons for this trip, the guide is only able to take 4 persons at one time.If you're coming to Khao Yai for serious wildlife spotting, not just a quick park drive, this private 2D1N trip is one of the more immersive ways to do it. Instead of sticking to the standard visitor route, you'll trek on lesser-known jungle trails used by only a small circle of local guides, stay overnight inside the park, and keep the plan flexible so your guide can follow weather, fresh tracks and animal movement in real time. What makes this especially different is the guiding. Your guide grew up beside Khao Yai and spent his youth deep in this forest, so he reads calls, footprints and subtle movement in a way most guides can't. Past guests often mention spotting a wide range of wildlife here, from hornbills, gibbons and kingfishers to snakes, civets, binturong and elephants, sometimes more than once, depending on luck and conditions. This is also a rare opportunity to stay over in the restricted national park, which means higher chance to spot nocturnal wildlife like Malayan porcupines, deer, vibrant night butterflies, and with a little luck, a wild elephant right around your lodge. Located just 3 kilometers from the park headquarters, this immersive stay offers the ultimate logistical advantage. You may wake up to diverse birdlife for an early morning stroll, all without the hassle of traveling in and out of the park. This is best for travellers who want a less packaged, more local experience and don't mind proper forest walks. You'll do two off-the-beaten-track treks of around 2.5 to 3 hours each, plus a ranger-led night safari and time at quieter wildlife areas like salt licks, viewpoints and riversides. The trip also supports local livelihoods around Khao Yai, including former hunters who now work in conservation-focused tourism. What to ExpectTwo guided jungle treks on quieter forest trails, usually around 2.5 to 3 hours eachFlexible routing based on weather, wildlife activity and your fitness level1 night in a simple eco-lodge inside the park with a private toilet, hot shower and fan-cooled room (upgrade for air-conditioned room is available with a small charge)Private 4x4 transport inside the parkWildlife searching from the road, viewpoints, riverside areas and the observation tower near a salt lickRanger-led night safari to look for nocturnal animals like elephants, gaur, civets and porcupinesWaterfall stops such as Haew Suwat and Haew Narok, depending on timing and conditionsPark entrance fees, night safari transport, drinking water, shared spotting scope and leech socks includedOptional Bangkok pickup add-on, with a possible Flying Fox bat stop en routeGood to KnowBest for travellers who are here for wildlife and are comfortable with uneven trails, heat and humidityWear earth-toned clothing, long pants and long sleeves; avoid bright coloursBring sturdy walking shoes, insect repellent, sunscreen and a strong torch for the night safariA rain jacket is useful from May to October; a light sweater helps from November to JanuaryWildlife sightings are never guaranteed, and the itinerary may shift on the day to improve your chancesThe standard package comes with an accommodation inside the park but guests may choose to stay at a hotel outside the park on their own expense, but we will provide free pickup right from your hotel (if in our inclusion zone)Inclusion zone of free hotel pickup is Pakchong and the northern Khao Yai area; pickup outside this zone costs extraThe standard room is a fan-cooled room which accommodates up to 2 guests, air-conditioned room which accommodate up to 3 guests is available as an add on.Meals are not included, but you'll stop at local restaurants and food courts at local prices (<100 THB per meal per person). We recommend having ~1,500 THB cash with you for the 2-day adventure.Vegetarian food is available at meal stopsSome weekends Khao Yai can be crowded. We recommend avoiding bookings during weekends if possible.Accommodation Amenities/FacilitiesSingle bedsPrivate en-suite bathroomDining areaNo Wifi provided (good cellular coverage)Hot ShowerTowelsAir conditioner (in select rooms)TV, refrigerator, microwave, water boiler (for air-conditioned room type only)

Lerne deinen Gastgeber kennen
