Review Body: The experience was amazing! Well worth getting up in the middle of the night. We had a very comfortable transport from Malang to a village close to Bromo. After a short wait we continued by jeep. The driver got us as close as possible to a good viewpoint. We were early (4.00am) which was good because it get busy. We didn’t realized getting to the viewpoint involved a steep climb of about 30 min. But it was really worth to see the sun come up and see this magical landscape appear. Our driver got us a bit more uphill, away from the actual viewpoint. The view there was even better and we were allmost alone. After the sunrise we climbed up to the Bromo crater. Again a steep 30 min walk and climb. But what an experience to be on the edge of an active vulcano crater. Again we were early at the crater and did not stay at the viewpoint too long. Also at the crater it gets very busy. We finished with a nice breakfast and our driver then brought is all the way to Ketapang to continue our trip to Bali. Really great experience!

Review Body: We had a great trip from Malang to Mount Bromo and back again - Thanks Sophie😉. I must admit, getting up at midnight for the ride wasn’t easy - but totally worth it. The view and sunset were spectacular, the walk through the sea of sand the climb up and to “risk” a peek in to the smoky and smelly caldera were a blast. Thanks to Renno, our local guide who we booked as an extra, we managed to avoid the crowds. The drivers (“Taxi” & 4x4) were great as well. For a next time I’d consider starting the tour in Malang and ending it in Surabaya (or vise versa) or doing a multi day tour around the national park all together. All with Seek Sophie, since it has a local feel to it and the organization was absolutely flawless.

Review Body: The experience was surreal! We enjoyed every bit of it because everything was taken care of. Nothing to worry, only worry did we capture the moments and took enough photos. We had brilliant driver and guide who took good care of us. Tip for future guests, the climb may seem tough (and tiring) especiallyfor those who don't exrcise much, but it's worth every drop of sweat.

Review Body: Top organisiert!

Review Body: Goede organisatie. Pick up was keurig op tijd.

Review Body: The crew was great, pick up on time and the jeep driver took some very difficult side roads to skip the lines. The sunrise spot was not on the volcano itself, but overseeing it from another mountain. Then we went to the voocano after sunrise and had breakfast at a sunny, peaceful hotel Nearby. Overall very good! Only minus is there is a looot of waiting on very cold Stones.

Review Body: Awesome to see the volcano and the sunrise. We paid extra or a local guide for the sunrise and volcano to help get a good spot for photos (as it can get extremely busy) but unfortunately we didn't get one once we turned up and were just told to get out of the jeep and walk 15 minutes in a direction of uphill (no info or recommedations of a spot at all) therefore struggled to work out where to go once dropped off by the driver (who spoke no english unlike the description). We then spent so long trying to get a good spot for photos that we almost missed full opportunity and felt a bit let down. The driver who picked us up was great but also not great at english and we had to use Google translate. We added on an extra waterfall tour for 15k very close to bromo which was amazing and would recommend! The walk up the volcano is much harder than advertised, the steps are only half the journey but there's about 2km of walking on soft sand before the steps unless you take a horse. Breakfast was also two slices of toast and a scrambled egg, hardly enough after the thousands of steps walked up! All in all, the place is amazing but if visiting for a day get the guide son you don't feel like you missed the best spots. In terms of value, you pay for the car/driver there (not a guide as lead to believe), a jeep from the village to the base of the view point, the same jeep goes to the "sea of sand" and drops you a couple of km from the volcano, and then takes you back to a b&b where you have breakfast before the driver takes you back. Considering it was 2.5mIDR for the two of us I think I'd rent a driver separately and just book the jeep from the village for the day in future to save money.

Review Body: This tour was an unforgettable adventure, offering an amazing blend of natural beauty and cultural experiences. While the accommodations aren’t luxurious, they were clean, comfortable, and perfect for a trip focused on exploring rather than resort-style stays. The itinerary is all about immersing yourself in nature, and I truly appreciated that. We requested to eat at some local warungs instead of fancy restaurants, and our main guide, Yogi, took us to some amazing spots. The food was authentic and delicious, and you could really feel the love and care that went into preparing each meal. It was such a great way to connect with the local way of life and enjoy the true flavors of the region. The guides were incredibly helpful, adaptive to our needs, and always went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible. For instance, the guide at Tumpak Sewu Waterfall took some incredible videos for us, constantly wiping the mist off our phones to make sure we captured every moment. The Ijen trek was tough, but it was one of the most rewarding hikes I’ve done. Although we encountered a few challenges along the way (like the flames being put out and the lake being closed for safety reasons), the guides worked hard to adapt and still made sure we had a great experience. The views at the top of Ijen were absolutely spectacular, and the trek itself was something I will always remember. This trip was also perfect for our teenage kids, who absolutely loved the experience. They were fully immersed in the adventure and enjoyed every part of it, from the hikes to the cultural encounters. Even simple stops at Indo Mart and Alpha Mart became highlights for the kids—they loved seeing local snacks and drinks and experiencing everyday life in Indonesia. Tips for Future Guests: Don’t Expect Luxury: This is a trip focused on nature and adventure, not a resort stay. Accommodations are simple but comfortable—perfect for the experience you’re after. Be Ready for a Tough Trek: The Ijen trek is challenging, but it’s worth every bit of effort. A Trekking Pole: A trekking pole would be very useful for the Ijen trek—it provides extra stability, especially on the steeper sections. Go With the Flow: Some things might not go as planned (like Ijen’s closed lake), but the guides are excellent at making adjustments and ensuring you still get the most out of every experience. Immerse Yourself in the Culture: If you're into local culture, request to eat at some of the warungs instead of the more touristy spots. Yogi took us to some hidden gems that gave us a deeper connection to Indonesian culture. Capture the Moments: Take advantage of the opportunity for photos and videos. The guides are great at helping you capture the best moments, even under tricky conditions. Get Some Rest During the Drives: The drives can be long and winding, so make sure to get some sleep during the journey to recharge for the next adventure! Travel Sickness: If you're prone to travel sickness, make sure to carry some medicine with you as some of the drives can be winding and long. Ijen Trek – For Small Kids or Older People: If you're traveling with small kids or older people, or those who might struggle with the tough trek, you can use the "Lamborghini or Ferrari" service at Ijen to assist. This option helps get less able travelers up the slopes and down, but it’s a bit expensive—about 1.5 million IDR. It requires three people to help one tourist, but it's a good option if you need extra support. If you're looking for an immersive, challenging, and rewarding adventure, I highly recommend this tour. It’s a perfect fit for families, especially those with teenage kids!
