Review Body: Saying goodbye to Sam was the hardest part of the trip. He was an incredible guide, always going out of his way to help, answering every question with his deep knowledge of the region's history, culture, food, and tea traditions. On top of that, he made the journey so much fun—we shared plenty of laughs along the way.

Explore Xishuangbanna with a Dai guide. Choose tribal villages or tea forests
Xishuangbanna is one of the most culturally diverse parts of Yunnan, home to Dai, Blang, Hani and many other communities. But if you’re travelling on your own, it can be hard to get beyond simply seeing the villages and tea mountains. That’s why we love exploring it with Sam. He’s from the local Dai community and knows this region inside out — from the stories behind Pu’er tea and ancient tea forests to the traditions, food and everyday life of the different communities here. Rather than just stopping for photos, you’ll actually understand what you’re seeing and why it matters. There are five genuinely different routes, so you can choose the side of Xishuangbanna you’re most curious about. Hike through ancient tea forests to an 800-year-old Tea King Tree, explore a 600-year-old Dai village and tropical rainforest, visit remote Blang communities, or spend the day among rice paddies, wooden villages and local crafts.Whichever route you choose, the point isn’t just to see Xishuangbanna. It’s to understand what makes this corner of Yunnan so different, with someone who grew up here.Choose Your RouteOption 1: Nannuo Mountain Ancient Tea Forest HikeBest for hikers and tea lovers. Trek 15km through ancient tea forests to an 800-year-old Tea King Tree, have lunch in a Hani village and learn about traditional tea roasting from local elders.Highlights15km guided tea mountain hike800-year-old Tea King TreeHani village & local lunchTraditional tea roastingOption 2: Ancient Dai Village & Tropical RainforestSee two sides of Xishuangbanna in one day. Lerne deinen Gastgeber kennen

Erfahrung: 22 Jahre
Spricht: Fließend in Englisch und Chinesisch
