Full-day wildlife & conservation trip in Kuching
If you're looking for a wildlife-filled day from Kuching, this trip combines ethical dolphin watching, mangrove exploration and a visit to Satang Island's turtle conservation centre.Your day begins with a wildlife cruise along the Santubong coast in search of the rare Irrawaddy dolphin. These dolphins are shy and unpredictable, so sightings are never guaranteed. Rather than chasing them, your captain carefully reads the river, moves slowly and waits patiently, allowing any encounters to happen naturally. Along the way, keep an eye out for proboscis monkeys, crocodiles and sea eagles.Later, you'll head to Satang Island to visit the turtle conservation centre. Here, local rangers will introduce the work being done to protect the green and hawksbill turtles that nest on the island, sharing the challenges they face and the efforts to safeguard future generations. Outside of that, the visit is still worthwhile — you’ll still learn a lot about their conservation work.Snorkelling: This isn’t the main focus of the trip, but it’s available if you’d like a bit of extra activity or time in the water.Group size: A minimum of 2 adults is required for the trip to run. If this isn’t met, you can reschedule, cancel, or top up to proceed.
