While travelling abroad, Jamie noticed something. Each country had a spirit to call their own that represented their identity and culture. But Singapore had nothing. No gin. No distilleries. Not even a licensing framework for how to build one. Even the iconic Singapore Sling was made using a foreign gin!So Jamie set out to create something we could proudly call its own - a spirit that bottled the bold, complex flavours of Singapore. This idea turned into a six-year journey - learning under master distillers in Germany’s Black Forest, experimenting with over 60 ingredients sourced from TCM halls and wet markets, and at the same time, fighting to get Singapore’s first-ever distillery license approved.Eventually after a LOT of work, she created Singapore's very first Gin Distillery, and Singapore’s very own dry gin! At this experience, you'll get to see our first gin distillery, do a gin tasting of the Singapore gins she's painstakingly crafted, and also make your own Singapore Sling! Jamie Koh is the founder behind Singapore’s first home-grown micro-distillery. In 2017, she saw something missing- Singapore didn’t have a spirit to call its own. So she rolled up her sleeves and got to work, learning from master distillers in Germany, experimenting with local ingredients from wet markets and TCM halls, and even pushing for Singapore’s first distillery licence. Today, thanks to her determination, her distillery crafts uniquely Singaporean gin using Southeast Asian botanicals. Jamie’s journey wasn’t just about making a drink—it was about giving Singapore a spirit that truly feels like home.
