Gili Trawangan is the party island of the Gili archipelago, and most popular with backpackers. Come here if you want a vibrant social scene, beach clubs and more hotels and restaurant choices! Usually travellers will base themselves at one of the three Gili islands and explore from there - so if you want a good party and social scene, base yourself in Gili T.

What to do or see here

Cycling, snorkeling, diving, surfing & beach days, with vibrant parties at sundown. Divers/snorkelers: don't miss the sea turtles, manta rays, & reef sharks in the northeast!

Best Time to Go

Visit April-Nov for ideal weather (though July-Aug gets crowded!). Avoid Dec-Mar rainy season, as waters get very choppy for boat trips and water activities.

Who is it for?

Gili Trawangan attracts backpackers and party-goers. It's the largest & most developed of the 3 Gili Islands, offering a vibrant nightlife and a fun-loving atmosphere.
