Review Body: We did this experience after our Komodo boat trip. Did NOT think anything in Labuan Bajo could top Komodo, but here we are - I'd say I almost enjoyed this more than the boat trip! Kak Liz was so warm and welcoming - like I could feel her energy the moment we stepped in. The whole experience was so wholesome, food was amazing in a way that you can taste all the ingredients, so flavourful without alot of seasoning. We enjoyed 3 drinks too, coffee/tea, jamu, and a local spirit called the sopi - all from the garden! And the garden tour too was lovely. I'm not usually crazy about garden tours, but she encouraged us to take off our shoes while walking (for some grounding!) and that was just such a nice touch somehow. And honestly, Kak Liz, her vibe is just different. She's so lovely and knowledgable and has so many stories to share. I could go on for hours about how great she is but think you got to meet her to understand it. Already missing her and thinking of the next visit. 100/10 must try!

Review Body: Wow wow! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a real authentic cooking food the traditional way in Indonesia. Absolutely beautiful people and they all makes you feel right at home. This place is magic and the calm of nature and jungle hearing birds while cooking inside the traditional way and the sound of the fire in the background. I can't really explain but I felt I was placed here from a different time. You have to join this to see for yourself. And the result, the food was the best I have eaten during my trips in Indonesia. If I knew what I would experience I would never doubt to visit this place! Lots of love to them and the people that works there and keep the place running <3

Review Body: Wow! This was a very special experience and Kaka Liz is a very special lady. This experience was one of the highlights of our trip. The food was delicious, the smoked chicken was a particular highlight. We had a wonderful barefoot walk around her garden and looked at all the edible plants from vanilla vines and hibiscus, to soursop trees and sap-giving palm trees. If you are in Flores, then you must visit Dapur Tara. The money you spend goes to local community artisans, local botanical medical clinic, and supports the attached orphange.

Don’t leave Labuan Bajo without this. A Tribal Farm-to-Table Journey
Most people come to Labuan Bajo for Komodo and leave straight after. But this tribal farm-to-table dining experience is easily one of the highlights here (we loved it as much as the Komodo boat trip!), and the best ways to really understand Flores. Hosted by Kak Liz, this isn’t just a meal. She’s spent years travelling across Flores, learning directly from different tribes — their languages, food traditions, and healing practices — and brings all of that into this experience. It’s her way of letting you experience the real Flores in just a few hours. You’ll start in her garden, where everything you eat comes from. You’re encouraged to walk barefoot, touch, smell, and learn — from medicinal herbs to everyday ingredients used in tribal cooking. Even small details are thoughtful: tea brewed from pineapple peels, papaya stems used as straws, and a quiet zero-waste ethos running through everything. Then you’ll sit down to a wood-fired meal rooted in Manggarai traditions. It is simple, grounding and good for the soul. It's an experience you can't miss if you want to really understand Flores. What to expectWalk through Kak Liz’s garden (barefoot if you like)Learn about medicinal herbs + tribal ingredientsCook and eat a wood-fired Manggarai mealTry herbal moke (arak) infused with fresh herbsSmall, thoughtful zero-waste touches throughoutPrivate experience, just for your groupMenu highlightsManuk Cuing (smoked chicken) or vegan alternativeNasi Kolo (bamboo rice)Ikan Kue Asam (sour fish soup)Seasonal vegetables, sambals & fruitsHerbal moke (arak), 3 infused varietiesAll food is halal.Vegetarian and vegan options available (just let us know when booking).
