Review Body: Had an amazing time at this workshop, which got us feeling like stepping into a charming little museum dedicated to the art of taxidermy, with a cozy and welcoming vibe. The hosts were incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to answer all our questions, whether about the intricate processes involved or fascinating fun facts about butterflies and moths.
For the workshop, we could choose four butterfly, and an option to upgrade to rarer butterfly specimens. The hosts were incredibly patient, guiding us step by step—from selecting and pairing our butterflies to arranging them perfectly in the display space.
Overall had a really fun experience and a beautiful piece to display at home now!

Review Body: We did a butterfly taxidermy workshop for my girlfriend’s birthday. At first I was apprehensive about doing it but I am happy to say that I had a lot of fun. Em was very well educated on all the questions that we had and made the process very informative and lighthearted. We made two beautiful displays using locally sourced, ethically gathered butterflies and local plants and flowers. Overall the experience was very well worth it and I would highly recommend to anyone remotely interested in insects or taxidermy.

Review Body: Was a really good time, the workshop only had my friend and i and the staff was lovely showing us around the store filled with their cool works and sharing fun facts about the different species of butterflies and how they do their work. She was patient in guiding us when we were piecing together our rodent skeleton. Overall a fantastic experience and will be asking my company if we could come here for potential team bonding as they provide corporate rates as well.

I felt like I was in an arts and craft science class and was given great directions and support with assembling the bird skeleton. They even had decorations to make it festive for the winter holidays! A truly unique experience that is not to be missed if you are a science nerd or appreciate creating one of a kind artwork.

Was also a joy to see all the other taxidermy works and how some pet owners preserved their pets too.

Butterfly wing art you’ll make by hand with real, ethical specimens
Admiring a butterfly is often a fleeting moment, but what if you had the rare chance to appreciate their beauty unhurried and up close? In this mindful butterfly wing mandala workshop, you’ll work with real, ethically sourced wings, each uniquely patterned and coloured by nature itself. Carefully preserved after the butterflies have lived out their natural lifespans, these wings become the building blocks of a meditative art form - one that honours life by giving it new meaning. You’ll spend time selecting from a wide variety of wings, noticing their differences, and slowly arranging them into a symmetrical mandala within a 15 × 15 cm frame. The process is deeply calming: part puzzle, part meditation, and part creative expression. To complete your artwork, you’ll choose a preserved butterfly for the centre (each with its own origin story!), bringing the piece together as a tribute to nature’s intricate design. The studio itself is a wonderful treasure trove of natural curiosities, making for great inspiration as you work. Your finished mandala becomes a striking decor piece for your home, or a thoughtful housewarming gift that carries a story beyond what meets the eye. Perfect for nature lovers, detail-oriented creatives, and anyone seeking a hands-on experience that feels both grounding and meaningful. What to ExpectLearn how to design your own butterfly wing mandala with expert guidanceUse ethically sourced butterfly and moth wings from specimens that lived full livesCreate your one-of-a-kind artwork within a 15 x 15cm display frameEnjoy a calm, thoughtful environment surrounded by fascinating specimensTake home a unique and meaningful piece of artGood to KnowThis is a join-in session, so you’ll be creating alongside other mindful makersAll materials are provided, including your frame and butterfly specimensEach mandala is unique depending on the wings you choose — no two are ever the sameSuitable for ages 10+Only the participant attending the workshop will be allowed for the workshop experience
