Meet Reuben Luke and Yumika Yamamoto, the founders behind Singapore’s first and only sake brewery since 2024. They faced plenty of doubts—from water quality to climate, and the high costs of brewing in a wealthy country. But it was their meeting that sparked something special. Through honest conversations and shared vision, they realised sake could be made anywhere, even in Singapore. Their goal is to create a new kind of sake, one that challenges traditions and welcomes innovation. It’s clear these two are driven by genuine curiosity and a belief that great things can come from anywhere, no matter the obstacles.
