自2012年起，Shavez 就开始积极保护婆罗洲的野生动物和森林，他在文莱创办了 1StopBorneo。从一项小规模的努力开始，如今已扩展至砂拉越和沙巴，涵盖种树、保护犀鸟、救助受伤动物等各种项目。他经常亲自下到现场，与在地社区合作，带领丛林导览团，让旅游直接支持保育工作，也会设置红外线相机来阻止偷猎。Shavez 也非常重视教育，通过演讲、出版物和实际体验，向大家传达婆罗洲丰富的生态多样性。他在保育界人脉广泛，但始终亲切随和，身体力行地投入在每一项工作中。
