Review Body: The experience was fantastic! It started with a brief intro about the origins and production of fish sauce (we learned some fun facts about anchovies!). Then came a blind taste test between mass-produced and premium fish sauces — a great way to notice the difference in taste and aroma. We also tried creative pairings with veggies, spring rolls, ice cream, and even cheese. Jovel shared an interesting perspective: mass-produced fish sauce isn't necessarily bad — its lighter flavor actually pairs well with salads and leaves you feeling less heavy after a meal. We all walked away with new knowledge and a fresh appreciation for just how versatile fish sauce can be.

Review Body: I stumbled upon SeekSophie during an online search. It was a nice change from the usual sponsored search results as it offered genuine and interesting options for discovering Ho Chi Minh City. I love SE Asian food so I signed up for the fish sauce tasting event but sadly not enough people signed up. They offered a coffee omakase program that I did instead. The venue space was conveniently located in District 1 and was bright and quiet. We tried several local coffees and made our own egg or salted coffee. Everything was great. Thanks muchly!

Review Body: It was surprisingly educational! We learned quite a bit about the origins of pho and even some Vietnamese history and culture along the way. Some of the tastings were quite creative too (like the deep-fried pho), which made it more fun and memorable. Jovel was a lovely host, warm, welcoming, knowledgable, and the pho is really yummy as well! It felt like a pretty unique experience that you probably wouldn’t find elsewhere!

My friends and I so enjoyed learning about fish sauce- it was a really fun hour as we got to sample the different types of fish sauce and also learn more about the regional nuances to it and identify the differences between commercial and artisan brewed fish sauce. Review Body: Had an enlightening session with Ben on understanding the origins of Pho and the evolution of it throughout the years. There is more to Pho then the Southern Vietnam version we see around the world! We had so much fun at Saigon Social that we signed up for their Vietnamese Coffee Worshop/Introduction right after! Thank you Jovel and team!

Not only do you learn to make several great Vietnamese coffees, the hosts give you meaningful insights into the uniquely Vietnamese coffee culture that has developed over the past 150 years. Review Body: Fish Saice tasting? Whaaa? Yeah, this was good. You gotta love fish sauce but Tracy talked us through it all and we did some blind tasting and not so blind tasting of artisan and commercial fish sauces and pairing them. It sounds goofy, but it was the real deal. Highly recommend.

Craft Saigon's most talked-about coffee
If you’re the kind of person who hunts down cool cafés when you travel, this one’s for you.Salted coffee is the drink everyone in Ho Chi Minh City is talking about right now — a creamy, slightly savoury twist that’s surprisingly addictive (and yes, it might just beat egg coffee). But instead of just ordering it at a café, you’ll actually learn how to make it yourself. This isn’t a typical coffee class. Your host is a Vietnamese-Australian barista trained in Australia’s specialty coffee scene, so you get a mix of serious coffee skills and local insight into Vietnam’s evolving café culture. You’ll taste, tweak, and brew your own salted coffee — playing around with flavours until you get it just right. Along the way, you’ll hear how this quirky drink became a local favourite, and why Vietnam’s coffee scene is one of the most exciting in the world right now. You’ll leave with your own recipe, a new appreciation for Vietnamese coffee, and probably a new obsession. What to ExpectA warm welcome and introduction to the world of Salted Coffee. An engaging discussion on Vietnamese coffee culture and the origins of Salted Coffee.A hands-on workshop where you'll learn to brew your own Salted Coffee, guided by your expert host.A tasting session where you can savour your creation and experiment with different levels of saltiness.A Q&A with your host, filled with coffee trivia, stories, and local insights.Take home a recipe card and certificate of completion, plus enjoy a 10% discount on coffee and other drinks.TipsTransport to the workshop location is not included, so plan your journey accordingly.
