This will include afternoon and night walks, as well as safari drives for wildlife spotting around the Maliau Basin Studies Centre. Danish Rayyan has spent over two decades guiding people through the incredible rainforests and rivers of Borneo. In 2011, he started his own small, thoughtful tour business after feeling that many tours were too rushed and didn’t give travellers enough time to really connect with the wild. Danish keeps his groups small, which means more flexibility and a chance to slow down and take it all in. He works closely with local communities—staying in village homestays and hiring local guides—so that the benefits of tourism are shared. He’s also mindful of the environment, always aiming to reduce impact and raise awareness. With Danish, it’s not just about seeing the rainforest, but understanding and respecting it too.
