Walk with majestic elephants in their natural habitat & support conservation.
Experience the magic of interacting with elephants while enjoying a sustainable and ethical adventure at Following Giants Elephant Sanctuary. This unique, "no hands", activity allows you to witness elephants in their natural habitat, learning about their personalities and stories as you follow them on a jungle walk. 🐘The experience also includes the opportunity to contribute to elephant conservation through seed ball reforestation. Roll seeds into balls with clay and elephant dung, then shoot them with a slingshot to create a natural source of food for the elephants. By choosing Following Giants, you support responsible tourism and become part of a movement that prioritizes the welfare of these gentle giants. This half-day experience is perfect for nature lovers and those who seek an authentic encounter with elephants. What to ExpectYou’ll get to observe these incredible creatures from a safe distance as they go about their day, interacting with the environment and each other. It’s a peaceful, no-contact experience where you can enjoy the elephants' majestic beauty and learn about their behaviors – all while respecting their space!Learn about elephant behaviours, jungle plants, and life at the sanctuary.Get your hands a little dirty and unleash your inner eco-warrior! You'll craft seed balls using clay and elephant dung, then launch them across the sanctuary using a slingshot – it's like playing a game, but with a purpose! These seed balls help regrow the forest, creating natural food sources for the elephants and wildlife.Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in a peaceful jungle setting. This is a join-in program, with up to 20 people per group. You’ll enjoy the opportunity to connect with other travelers while keeping things relaxed.Includes hotel pickup and drop-off on Koh Lanta Yai’s west coast.Good to KnowThis is a half-day join-in experience (around 4 hours included lunch time)—a full-day version is also available with extra activities.Pick-up and drop-off are only included for select areas on Koh Lanta Yai’s west side: Klong Dao Beach, Klong Nin Beach, Phra Ae Beach, Klong Khong Beach, and Saladan.Pick-up and drop-off on the east side (Lanta Old Town and Sang Ga-U Beach) are available at an additional cost and require a minimum of 2 people. Please be aware that Koh Lanta is an island and is not part of the Krabi mainland. While Krabi Town and Ao Nang are popular locations on the mainland, Koh Lanta requires a ferry or boat ride to access. The travel time from Krabi to Koh Lanta by car and ferry typically takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. You can also travel by car and ferry combination, which is the most common way to get to the island. Please keep in mind that there is no bridge connecting Koh Lanta to the mainland, so the car will need to be ferried across. If you are staying in Ao Nang or Krabi Town, please plan ahead to ensure you have enough time to travel to Koh Lanta. This will involve both a car transfer to the ferry port and the ferry ride to the island. This jungle walk is suitable for all fitness levels but does involve uneven and occasionally slippery forest terrain. Rubber boots are provided if needed. It’s a great light-adventure option for nature lovers.Cancellation PolicyBookings canceled within 48 hours prior to the start time: Full refund.Bookings canceled within 24 hours prior to the start time: Non-refundable.No Show (Failure to join the program without prior notice): Non-refundable.Complaints or refund requests must be submitted in writing within 24 hours after the tour ends. The Service Provider reserves the right to adjust the program due to local conditions, emergencies, or animal behavior. Meet your host
This is a peaceful sanctuary tucked away in the lush greenery of Koh Lanta-Krabi. After seeing the harm caused by traditional elephant tourism, they set out to do things differently—creating a space where rescued elephants could enjoy life on their own terms. At the sanctuary, there’s no riding or shows—just quiet moments spent watching elephants roam, play, and interact naturally. Visitors are gently guided through the experience, learning what makes these animals so special. Their calm, thoughtful approach has shaped them into more than just a visit—it’s a chance to connect with elephants in a way that feels right for them. It’s clear that the well-being of the animals comes first in every part of the day.
