Review Body: Went on a morning walk with Haji and really enjoyed it. The trail is quite flat and beginner-friendly, so it’s an easy way to get closer to nature without needing to be an experienced hiker.
I thought it would just be a clear trail, but Haji took me a little deeper into the forest too. There aren’t paved paths, but honestly that’s part of the charm, exploring the real forest.
Along the way, Haji patiently explained the different wild plants and how locals used them in the past, especially before there was easy access to hospitals on the island. It was fascinating to learn how much knowledge is hidden in the forest.
I don’t think I’ve met a guide as knowledgeable as Haji when it comes to wild plants. Really recommend this walk if you want to slow down, learn something new and experience Langkawi’s nature beyond the usual trails.

Review Body: Went on a night hike with my 12-year-old daughter, guided by Haji at the Darulaman Sanctuary. It was a peaceful two-hour trek through the jungle, capped off with a memorable mini picnic by the river where we brewed fresh lemongrass tea—in the pitch-dark tropical rainforest. Somehow, that made it even more fun.
Haji has an incredible knack for spotting wildlife from remarkable distances. During the hike we saw a fascinating tree frog, a Malayan colugo, flying squirrels, a striking gecko, giant moths, and learned about a variety of local plants and their traditional uses. His knowledge of the forest was truly impressive.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience and well worth doing if you enjoy a little adventure, wildlife, and seeing the jungle come alive after dark.

Review Body: Very nice experience! I recommend a lot! I did it at night, we enjoy the nature a lot. I went only with my family, we were 4 so it was very calm and chill. We took our time to search for animals and insects.
We had red lights to discover.
The guide made some tea at the waterfall. He is so friendly and nice. We all loved it. (About 2hours) Go here !

Review Body: If you’re looking for a pure, untouched rainforest experience in Langkawi, Darulaman Sanctuary is truly one of the island’s best-kept secrets. Unlike crowded tourist spots, this place gives you that “virgin jungle” feeling — raw, peaceful, and deeply connected to nature.

Review Body: Amazing experience with Mr Haji
We took the jungle trekking tour. It was not an easy tour and definitely not for amateurs but Haji was very patient with us and he gave us a lot of info about the jungle. It was one of the best experiences I did in langkawi

Search for nocturnal wildlife, bioluminescence and the hidden life of the forest
Most visitors experience Langkawi's rainforest by day. But after sunset, an entirely different world emerges. On this 2-hour guided night walk, you'll explore a secure forest trail at the foothills of Gunung Raya, where the rainforest comes alive with creatures rarely seen during daylight. With only your torchlight and an experienced nature guide leading the way, you'll slow down and discover the sights and sounds of the forest after dark.As your eyes adjust, you'll search for nocturnal wildlife such as frogs, insects, spiders, reptiles and other night-active creatures hiding among the trees. Along the way, your guide will also point out bioluminescent organisms, explain how different species have adapted to life in the dark, and help you appreciate the unique soundscape of the rainforest at night.Rather than rushing through the trail, this experience is about observing what most visitors overlook. Every walk is different, with wildlife sightings depending on weather and forest conditions, making each night in the rainforest a unique adventure. What to Expect2-hour guided night walk through Gunung Raya's rainforestExplore a secure 2-kilometre forest trail after darkSpot nocturnal wildlife including frogs, insects, spiders and reptilesDiscover glowing bioluminescent organisms hidden in the forestLearn how rainforest wildlife adapts to life at nightExperience the sights and sounds of Langkawi's rainforest after sunsetGood to KnowThe walk runs from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PMTransport to the meeting point is not includedSuitable for beginners and families with a reasonable level of fitnessClosed-toe shoes are recommended, as trails can be uneven or slippery after rainBring a reusable water bottle and insect repellentWildlife sightings vary depending on weather and forest conditions

At the foothills of Gunung Raya lies a 226-acre rainforest sanctuary built around a simple idea: that nature should be experienced, not replaced. Instead of turning the land into another development, the area was restored with the help of environmental experts, keeping it largely vehicle-free and designed for low-impact exploration.
The vision was to protect one of Langkawi’s remaining rainforest landscapes while allowing people to connect with it responsibly. Today, the team on the ground continues that mission — restoring native trees, protecting wildlife such as hornbills and the Sunda colugo, and finding ways for tourism and conservation to exist side by side.
