Lijiang Xintuo Ecotourism is a small, community-run company founded by Lily, a Naxi local from Yunnan. After more than 10 years working as a tour guide across China, she returned home to Lijiang with the hope of sharing her hometown and culture with travellers in a more meaningful way. Lily and her local guides lead trips beyond the busy parts of Lijiang to quieter villages and landscapes. With her local roots and connections, Lily brings travellers to places that remain largely untouched by mass tourism. Through these journeys, she hopes to help preserve the traditions and way of life of Yunnan’s local communities while creating opportunities for them to benefit from tourism.
