An opportunity to experience Hmong life - from mountain climbing to folk dancing
This immersive 3-day, 2-night adventure takes you deep into the heart of Sin Suoi Ho, where a welcoming Hmong couple invites you to experience village life firsthand from their truly unique Birdhouse Homestay. Perched among the trees and surrounded by jungle, the birdhouse is more than just a place to stay — it’s part of the magic of being here, offering a peaceful, offbeat stay close to nature.Across the journey, you’ll enjoy beautiful waterfall hikes, heartfelt cultural encounters, and the chance to summit Rang Cua Peak (2,852m) for a true mountain challenge. If you’d like to go a little deeper, you can also add on a night of Hmong dancing and singing by the campfire. Spend the evening around the bonfire with a local Hmong group of around 15 people, who’ll share traditional songs, dances, and music played on the khèn, a bamboo instrument deeply rooted in Hmong culture. More than just a performance, this is a chance to join in too — through dancing, singing in your own language, or simply sharing the moment together. It’s a warm, memorable way to connect more deeply with the community. What to ExpectImmerse yourself in the tranquility of Sin Suoi Ho, interacting with locals and discovering their traditions.Conquer Rang Cua Peak ( October - April, dry season only), a challenging yet rewarding climb through diverse terrains and breathtaking vistas.Embark on scenic hikes to the captivating Love and Heart Waterfalls, enveloped by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature.Witness the awe-inspiring beauty of the rice terraces bathed in the golden hues of sunset.Savor the flavors of authentic Hmong cuisine, prepared with love and care by your hosts. An optional but incredibly fun night of Hmong dancing and sitting around a camp fire.Good to KnowPack for both warm days and cool evenings as the weather in the mountains can be unpredictable. To fully admire the Do Quyen flowers in bloom, with vibrant red, pink, and purple hues, go between March and April. Please note that the itinerary is flexible. Feel free to discuss with your host to arrange the activity schedule that works best for you.Sin Suoi Ho is about 100 km from Sapa, and the drive takes around 2.5 hours one way. For seamless travel, you can book the round-trip transfer add-on.AccommodationYou’ll stay in either a private birdhouse or a dorm bed in a communal house, depending on the option selected at booking. The private birdhouse comes with an ensuite bathroom, while the dorm uses shared bathroom facilities. Both options include a hot shower, fan, mosquito net, and Wi-Fi.As this is a remote area, please note that the water heater may not always provide a consistent temperature or flow rate. We appreciate your kind understanding. There is no heater, but extra blankets can be provided on request if needed.Want more adventures?Option to extend the hike and conquer another peak—Ta Lien Son (2,996m) or Putaleng (3,049m)—with an overnight stay in a rustic mountain shack, perfect for those with an adventurous spirit. If you choose this option, you'll return to Sin Suoi Ho village by the afternoon of the 3rd day, extending the original itinerary to the evening. This is a challenging hike and is only suitable for advanced hikers with good fitness and trekking experience. Please bring your own hiking gear and comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for mountain conditions. The mountain shack is very basic, simple, and can get cold at night. We strongly recommend bringing a sleeping bag for a warmer and more comfortable overnight stay.
