If you've ever wondered what it's like to sleep on an offshore oil rig in the middle of the ocean, this is probably the closest you'll get. This converted oil rig is now one of the world's most unusual dive bases, anchored between Mabul, Kapalai and Sipadan in the heart of Semporna, Sabah.Instead of spending hours travelling back and forth each day, you'll already be where the diving begins. Enjoy up to three boat dives a day around Mabul, Kapalai and nearby reefs. Enjoy a full day diving at one of the world's most celebrated dive sites, Sipadan, where you'll explore its famous walls alongside turtles, schooling barracuda, reef sharks and other incredible marine life. Your Sipadan dive day will be scheduled based on permit allocation.The rig itself is part of the adventure. Over the years, its submerged legs have become an artificial reef teeming with marine life, so you can make the most of unlimited buddy dives on the house reef whenever conditions allow. It's a favourite spot for spotting macro life, making night dives, or simply squeezing in one more dive before dinner.This isn't a luxury resort, and that's exactly the appeal.
