Meet your host

Forget a typical island resort — this host lets you sleep on a retired oil rig turned dive base in the middle of the South China Sea. Towed to the waters off Mabul, the rig found a surprising second life as a home for divers and marine life alike. Its underwater structure has evolved into a unique habitat, where guests can explore the house reef before heading out to Sipadan, Mabul and Kapalai. It’s a rare meeting point of human ingenuity and the wild ocean.
