Review Body: First of all great welcoming at the morning, Chu shows up on time, explaining every detail in the trip and what should we be prepared for. He is a great conversation guy with good English and open to know each other while hiking. He is very chill and has a lot of knowledge about the area, he will wait for you to get your breath back how much needed - and ask you if you are okay all the time. He brings you water and a lot of bananas and snacks while hiking (he gave us what was left after the hike). And also he takes many photos After a while we are lunch, he and the other guides we met made it together, and it was so delicious, refreshing and with a great few and some fruits (everything is handmade) makes you so energized again. When we got to the top he gave us the medals and we did couple of pictures and of course explained our options to get down (hiking or cable car). Overall, the experience with Chu in the challenging hike was great and memorable. I recommend it very

Review Body: Chu is the Most Patient Guide Ever! 🌟 If you're hiking Fansipan, book Chu! I might officially hold the record for being his slowest hiker, but his patience was next-level 🤣 The trail is brutal and not for beginners. My journey took a whopping 9 hours, 43 minutes, and 55 seconds! We had to rush to catch the very last cable car down at 5 PM (riding with the staff!), but Chu never once made me feel bad about my pace. Oh by the way, he knew the trail inside out. When we reached the 3,000 masl station, he kindly reassured me that making it this far on foot was a massive achievement and that I fully earned the medal and certificate. Thank you, Chu, for keeping me safe during the trip! If you want a genuinely supportive guide, he is the one! ✨️

Review Body: Excellent trek to Fansipan Peak! Did the Full Day Fansipan Hiking Challenge and it was one of the best parts of our Sapa trip. Chu, our guide, was super supportive and made sure we all had a great time on the walk. We did a group trek and he made sure to give everyone equal attention. His wife, Soi, served us food and even joined us for a good part of the trek. She was really sweet to us. The trail had some tough sections but the scenery was breathtaking, especially at the summit. Everything was well managed. Definitely recommend this tour.

Review Body: Absolutely unforgettable experience with Chu and the whole crew! He was a fantastic guide, providing a phenomenal lunch, witty humor, and knowledge of local customs and traditions. He was overall a great conversationalist and an even better hiker! Couldn’t recommend a better guide out there. He was patient with our group as we took our time, but also never rushed us and encouraged us to experience everything we could on the journey. Anyone who is wondering if they should do Fansipan should absolutely send it.

Review Body: I had a great hike up Fansipan with Chu! He organized everything in advance so that we could start the hike early in the morning. He had great snacks and an amazing lunch for us! He adjusted the pace for slower hikers and made us feel safe. Thank you Chu:) Definetly bring a rain jacket and even sweater/hoodie, it can get cold and wet.

Review Body: The hike to Fansipan was incredibly beautiful, but also strenuous. I would describe it as challenging; a good level of fitness is definitely required. Our guide was super friendly, cooked lunch for us, was generally very considerate, and adjusted the pace to the group. I would love to do it again! 😊 …

Fansipan summit via a quieter trail with a local Black Hmong guide
If you want the Fansipan summit with fewer people and a more thoughtful footprint, this is the one to book. While around 70% of hikers take the standard Tram Ton Pass trail, this private 1-day trek can follow the quieter Sin Chai village route instead — a tougher, lesser-known path used mainly by local Hmong guides and hunters. It suits hikers who want a more rewarding climb, not just the quickest route to the top.You trek with a Black Hmong guide who grew up at the foot of Fansipan and has spent over 10 years on these mountains. That local knowledge makes a real difference on a long day like this. The pace is patient, the route feels more personal, and along the way you get context on Hmong life and the Hoang Lien forest, not just a straight march to the summit. This trek also takes its impact seriously. Instead of handing out single-use plastic bottles, the team refills reusable bottles along the way from larger water containers carried on the trek. Guides and porters also collect litter along the trail, carry all waste back down the mountain, and sort it properly afterwards — with recyclable items like plastic bottles and cans separated for local recycling. Your booking also directly supports Black Hmong guides, porters, and families in Y Linh Ho through fair wages, so your summit day leaves more behind for the local community, and less behind on the mountain. What to ExpectPrivate 1-day Fansipan summit trek with hotel pickup and drop-off in Sapa townEnglish-speaking local Black Hmong guideEco-conscious trekking setup with refill water system to reduce single-use plasticFreshly cooked chicken pho lunch at the mountain hut, plus snacks, fruit, water, and hot teaGloves, raincoat, park entrance fees, trekking permits, travel insurance, summit certificate, and medal includedOption to hike back down or take the cable car down after reaching the summitGood to KnowThe Sin Chai route starts lower, at around 1,400m, compared to about 1,900m at Tram Ton Pass, so it is naturally a longer trekking day. In return, you get a quieter and more scenic trail, with wilder landscapes and far fewer crowds than the standard Tram Ton route. If you hike both ways, the total distance is around 25–26km.For the descent, you can choose to take the cable car down instead of trekking all the way back; this is optional and costs 850,000 VND per person, paid onsite. It is best suited to hikers with good fitness and stamina.Pickup starts early, around 5:30 AM, from Sapa townBring a reusable water bottle if you have one. A stainless steel bottle can also be borrowed for the trek

Maak kennis met je host

Born and raised in Y Linh Ho village at the foot of Fansipan, Chu is a Black Hmong guide who has spent over 10 years trekking the mountains around Sapa. A father of two, he started hosting treks in 2016 to share a more local side of the area. His trips are plastic-free and can be customised. What makes his hosting feel personal is how closely it connects to home—his treks support Y Linh Ho by hiring local Hmong guides and porters at fair wages, while keeping a strong focus on reducing waste in the mountains.
