Review Body: I didn’t know what I was getting into when I booked the trip but I don’t think I’ll enjoy going to other places as much after the princess treatment I got at Luma Selakan. I was there barely 24 hours before deciding I would definitely return because: 1. Service is impeccable! They went over and beyond to provide the best possible service imaginable. Zul, the manager, was very attentive to our needs and even helped us with purchasing ice cream from a local seller. We barely had to do anything as everything from carrying of bags, preparing everything for the dive, even putting our fins on at the start of every dive, cleaning up equipment after and so many other little details were taken care of by the crew. 2. Authentic home cooked food is served 4 times a day. There’s also a full kitchen if you want to cook your own meals. 3. The view and nature. There was an anemone with a family of clownfish right outside our room! 4. The sense of security there. We left our doors and windows open when we were out for dives because it was so safe 5. The beautiful and easy dives where I could truly enjoy the view without getting too into my head. Also a haven for macro lovers. The dive guide, Nat, was also patient and accommodated to us.

Review Body: A truly beautiful and charming place to stay in the Semporna region. The rooms are simple but clean and spacious, and they're built right over the sea. We loved everything here: the vibe, the food, the stunning sunsets, the village, the ocean, and the incredible service and hospitality from the staff. Zulkarnain was an especially great manager and facilitator. He pays attention to every detail and anticipates your needs, ensuring you feel happy and comfortable in this special place. For booking and before travelling, the communication was super smooth, and the team is very well-organized and professional. My 10-year-old daughter and I also did the discover diving experience. She was so lucky to have Osman as her instructor—he's a very experienced and calm teacher. We also had the chance to visit the villagers, who cooked our food for us in a very clean and nice kitchen. The food is excellent, and you have a great variety to choose from every time. Even though we aren't a family with diving experience, we still had a wonderful time and truly loved this unique place. I highly recommend!

Review Body: Luma Selakan will always hold a special place in our hearts. If "Luma" means "home," then this is exactly what we found here. The crew is amazing, and the food is tasty. The room was very comfortable and the view spectacular. Having a diving center on-site made it even more special, as we were able to get our Open Water certification right there. Truly a hidden gem. Thank you❤️ Anna and Gigi

Review Body: Beautiful experience of 4 days 3 nights with dives and snorkeling around the island of Selakan. The whole team of Jul, the manager and dive master, was very careful. The rooms with balconies on the water are extraordinary. Dive sites are breathtaking especially for the richness of corals. Jul shared his passion for nudibranchs and other micro-animals. Fabulous.

Special shout out to Zul for his Pro Tips 😜 and generosity in sharing his knowledge and time, especially in diving and photography. All the dive guides are excellent spotters. Highly recommend.

Review Body: Small, beautiful and quiet place. Very competent in macro diving. We stayed in a double room with private terrace, white sheets and thin curtains blowing in the wind. The pleasant vibe of home stay and the service of a luxury resort. We loved this place!

Discover Selakan’s macro paradise with a Sipadan dive day
Sipadan may be Semporna's biggest draw, but some of its most rewarding dives lie elsewhere. This 4D3N dive stay combines the best of both worlds: three days discovering the hidden reefs and island life of Selakan Island in Semporna, followed by a full day diving Sipadan's legendary walls alongside turtles, reef sharks and schooling barracuda.Founded by a passionate macro diver who wanted to share a different side of Semporna, the lodge is now a favourite among underwater photographers and marine life enthusiasts. Around Selakan, expect colourful nudibranchs, frogfish, shrimps, turtles, and vibrant coral reefs — with plenty of time to appreciate the smaller creatures that often steal the show. What makes this experience special is the variety. Spend your days exploring Selakan’s quieter reefs, where marine life is hidden in every corner, then head out for a full day of diving at Sipadan, where you may encounter bigger species such as reef sharks, turtles, barracudas, and schools of fish.Beyond the diving, this experience is rooted in the local community. Many of the dive instructors and boat crew are from Selakan Island, while local aunties prepare home-cooked meals for guests. Staying here feels less like a resort stay and more like spending a few days with the people who call these waters home. With four days on the island, you’ll enjoy nine dives in total — six around Selakan’s reefs, and three dives at Sipadan. With small dive groups capped at one divemaster to three divers, each dive is unhurried, giving you more time to search for marine life, take photos, or simply enjoy the underwater world.Stay in a simple overwater bungalow with wide sea views, relax between dives, and soak in the peaceful rhythm of island life. If time allows, explore Selakan Village or take a short hike up Selakan Hill for sweeping views of the island and surrounding waters. What to ExpectJoin-in 4D3N dive stay on Selakan Island, inside Tun Sakaran Marine ParkReturn boat transfers from Semporna Tourist Jetty3 nights in a simple overwater room with open-air design and wide sea views9 guided boat dives: 6 dives around Selakan Island, 2 dives at Sipadan, and 1 dive at Mabul IslandSmall dive groups with 1 divemaster to 3 diversPlenty of free time to relax, explore the island, and soak in the slower pace of island life between divesMeals included: 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 3 dinnersFull dive equipment includedGood to KnowNon-Malaysians will need to cover an extra Marine Park fee of RM20 per person, per day.Sipadan diving is subject to permit availability and weather conditions.Meet at 2:00 PM at Semporna Tourist Jetty on Day 1.Return to Semporna is around 3:30 PM–4:30 PM on Day 4.
