Review Body: Batik workshop was so interesting and immersive! Especially love the authentic sharing from Iolana on the background of batik and the well meaning behind the batik designs you commonly see. This workshop is good for anyone as Iolana makes it easy and clear for us to follow while giving us ample space and time to hone the creativity outta you. Appreciate that there are drawing templates and colour mixing guides which made the entire process stress-free. Would totally do it again, so fun and therapeutic!

Iolana is in 2024 met deze workshop begonnen om de schoonheid van een traditionele ambachtelijke techniek met anderen te delen. Met een praktische aanpak begeleidt ze deelnemers door het hele proces, van het werken met de tjanting voor het aanbrengen van was tot de basis van schilderen met verf. Het gaat niet alleen om het maken van batik — het draait ook om zelfexpressie, ontdekking en zelfs een stukje heling. Naast de workshop werkt Iolana samen met ambachtslieden in Indonesië en helpt ze zo hun vak en inkomen in stand te houden. Haar doordachte aanpak en oprechte band met deze kunst maken de ervaring zowel waardevol als onvergetelijk.
