This is one of the few Komodo boat trips that takes you to Padar Island at sunset instead of sunrise, letting you skip the usual crowds. So you can relax and take in the sunset views without the rush. And besides the classic highlights like trekking with Komodo dragons, visiting Pink Beach, and seeing bats fly out at sunset on Kalong Island, you’ll also visit Siaba (Turtle Island), often missed by other trips, where you can snorkel with giant turtles if you're lucky. One great thing about this boat is that all the cabins are located either on the main deck or upper deck - no lower deck rooms! So you'll get to wake up to beautiful sea views no matter which cabin you choose. Even the dorm-style cabin, that's great for solo travellers and is typically located on the lower deck on most boats, is on the main deck and comes with an ensuite bathroom too. There are plenty of spaces to hang out on the boat, including three decks and two hammock lounge nets at the front. It's perfect for travellers who prefer a small group - the max capacity is just 11 guests, making it intimate enough to get to know everyone and become friends after three days together. Papiton was the best dive boat I've ever been on. I was extremely impressed with the organization (everything was perfectly prepared when we arrived) as well as the kindness and support (we were always helped to put on the dive vests and checked the whole equiptment before a dive) of the crew. The dive sites themselves were very great selected, we were shown beautiful coral reefs and we saw extremely many animals like toads, mantas and sharks (always by far of course). Every dive was exciting and I always felt perceived and supported underwater. The lunch was also great and was served in a sweet bento box. The staff were all very nice and we all had a great time together! If I ever come back here to dive, it's definitely with Papiton!

Komodo has some of the best diving in the world, but with its strong currents, having a great dive crew really matters. If you want to explore Komodo's incredible underwater world in comfort, this is one of our favourite ways to do it. You'll dive at three incredible sites with experienced guides, and spend the day on the largest and most comfortable day-trip dive boat in Komodo! Built in 2024, the boat is a huge upgrade from the usual dive boats. There's a spacious lounge area (our favourite bit!), a well-equipped dive deck and two bathrooms. It might sound like a small thing, but when you're spending a full day at sea and getting in and out of dive gear, all that extra space makes a real difference. And of course, the diving is the real highlight! We did this experience after our Komodo boat trip. Did NOT think anything in Labuan Bajo could top Komodo, but here we are - I'd say I almost enjoyed this more than the boat trip!

 Kak Liz was so warm and welcoming - like I could feel her energy the moment we stepped in. The whole experience was so wholesome, food was amazing in a way that you can taste all the ingredients, so flavourful without alot of seasoning. We enjoyed 3 drinks too, coffee/tea, jamu, and a local spirit called the sopi - all from the garden! And the garden tour too was lovely. I'm not usually crazy about garden tours, but she encouraged us to take off our shoes while walking (for some grounding!) and that was just such a nice touch somehow. 

And honestly, Kak Liz, her vibe is just different. She's so lovely and knowledgable and has so many stories to share. I could go on for hours about how great she is but think you got to meet her to understand it. Already missing her and thinking of the next visit. 100/10 must try!

The total cost for this itinerary is USD $1200 (SGD 1650) per person on a twin-sharing basis. This includes all activities, a 3D2N Phinisi Komodo boat trip, Komodo National Park fees, airport transfers, and a nice 3-star hotel for days 4-6.

Budget

Labuan Bajo is very safe, even for solo female travelers. You can explore the town comfortably, though some areas might be dimly lit at night. Petty crime is rare, but as with anywhere, it’s good to stay aware of your surroundings.

Safety

There are multiple flights a day from Bali (Indonesia), and from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). You'll need to fly in the day before your boat trip as most boat trips leave early in the morning before flights arrive. 

Getting there

The best time for this itinerary is April–December, as 3D2N boat trips rarely run during the rainy season (Jan–March). Visit in April–May for fewer crowds or September–November for better wildlife sighting.
