Wow… Where do we begin? My girlfriend and I had no expectations coming into this experience, but we left with our hearts, stomachs and souls full of stories, good food and inspiration. Wayan, his family, the students, everyone was so kind and we truly enjoyed every second of our stay. It was a very emotional experience somehow and it was a pleasure to get away from the busy city and touristy attractions. We were told the story of how the place came to be, we visited the firefly lab, took a tour of the farmer’s land and helped cook dinner before enjoying it by a candlelit dinner. At the end we got to see the fireflies over the rice field. Even our Gojek drivers waited for us to be done before driving us home <3 we made sure to pay them cash and they got a fat tip from us! Overall we recommend this tour and would rate it a 12/10. Thank you Wayan, thank you to everyone we had the chance to meet

Amazing experience to spend time with Wayan, his family and the resident scientists to learn about this important project to recover the local fire fly population. We learned about the project, shared a fantastic dinner out in the garden at night and then had the opportunity to see the fireflies in their natural habitat. It's a once in a lifetime experience so highly recommend the tour.

the trek was amazing! taking in nature and the views were immaculate 🤩 our guide was amazing, helling us every step of the way and giving us local insights into the villages and plantations we saw on the way. my only tip is to definitely wear hiking boots as normal shoes do not provide enough grip.

We loved May and our Off beaten track tour with Sapa O'Chau. We had a great time and everything about this experience was truly unique. I will definitely reccomend.

One of the most memorable activities and a wonderful end to the day. We learned so much about fireflies, the importance of it to the ecosystem, and why they are disappearing in this day and age. The hosts are so knowledgeable and friendly and we really felt so at ease and comfortable. While there wasn't a whole field of fireflies (please manage your expectations - they are doing their best to bring up its population) , it was still such a great experience to see the fireflies twinkle in the night, paired with the stars in the sky. The food was also so delicious and meticulously prepared and I enjoyed every bite.
I would really recommend this activity if you are willing to travel out (please get a private driver as this is quite a far trip from Ubud Central). The session is very intimate and not suitable if you are travelling with people who are scared of the dark, icky with bugs, and noisy yappers.

Our family had the incredible opportunity to delve into the wonders of Bali's natural and cultural heritage. Witnessing the mesmerizing glow of fireflies in their natural habitat was not only a visual delight but also an educational experience for our family, highlighting the rarity and beauty of these luminous insects.
Equally enjoyable was our hands-on participation in preparing and savoring traditional Indonesian dishes and also watching the intricate process of making coconut milk and oil which provided us with a deeper appreciation for Balinese culinary traditions.
Wayan and his team, many of whom are his family members, extended warm hospitality that made us feel truly welcome. Their prompt communication prior to our visit ensured a seamless experience.
Given the location's setting amidst a lush forest, we recommend wearing long sleeves and pants and applying mosquito repellent.
For those seeking an authentic and special experience in Bali, this adventure comes highly recommended.

We were given two options at the beginning of our trek - adventurous route or easy route. We chose the adventurous route which was so fun! Our guide, San May was incredibly warm, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, making the journey even more memorable.
Throughout the trek, San May shared fascinating insights about the traditions and culture of the different ethnic minorities. She also took the time to explain the different crops the locals were growing and introduced us to various medicinal herbs we encountered along the way. Her passion and deep connection to the land and people truly shone through.
The trek offered breathtaking views of the iconic rice terraces and allowed us to immerse ourselves in the natural beauty and the genuine warmth of the village communities. It was an unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore the authentic side of Sapa.
Thank you San May and SeekSophie, for such an incredible adventure! :)

Visiting this firefly farm was an unforgettable experience! Not only did we get to witness the breathtaking beauty of fireflies lighting up the night, but we also learned so much about their important conservation work. It’s inspiring to see a place so dedicated to protecting these magical creatures and their habitat.
The hospitality was outstanding—everyone we met was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great time, answering all our questions and sharing fascinating insights about fireflies. Their passion for conservation truly shines through!
