Did a bit of research and found Kadbus to be a more reliable operator. The bus was rather clean and we were allowed to sleep in till 5.30 to 6am at both Sapa and Hanoi. The bus from Hanoi to Sapa was quite smooth, and although I could feel all the turns, it wasn't too bad and I could fall asleep. Took the upper cabin for this.
But we were assigned the lower cabin on the return bus from Sapa to Hanoi, and it was so uncomfortable due to the turns, made me quite giddy and unable to sleep well. Unsure if it was because we could feel more of the turns in the lower cabin, or because of the initial road from Sapa to Hanoi being very winding.
Please note that there is no grab in Sapa, so getting to your accom might be harder in the early morning in Sapa. We ended up walking to our hotel in Sapa town, which is about 15 min walk.
Regardless, this is a cheap way to travel to and fro Hanoi and Sapa but i probably would try to take a daytime limousine car if I could choose next time.
