Semporna diving in small groups with an overnight stay and 6 dives
If you're looking for a more relaxed way to dive Semporna, this is a great option. Instead of squeezing three dives into one long day before heading back to town, you'll spend two full days diving with an overnight stay by the sea. With just five divers to each divemaster, the pace is slower, there's more time between dives, and your guide can give everyone more individual attention. The overnight stay is part of what makes this experience special. Rather than a large island resort, you'll stay at a small water bungalow with just four ocean-view rooms, creating a peaceful, intimate atmosphere. Between dives, you can unwind in a hammock over the water, enjoy home-style meals, and simply take in the sea views before heading back out the next morning.Guests often say it's the people who make the experience memorable. Reviews frequently mention the approachable divemasters, whether it's patiently helping newer divers regain their confidence, spotting tiny marine creatures that most people would miss, or creating an easygoing atmosphere throughout the trip. The resort's small size also means the crew quickly get to know everyone, making it feel less like joining a commercial dive operation and more like spending a couple of days with people who genuinely love sharing their home waters. Each day includes three guided dives, with surface intervals on the boat or on the beach depending on the tide, and packed lunches served out on the islands. After dinner and a night's rest by the sea, you'll head straight back out for another full day of diving.Your itinerary follows a fixed weekly island rotation, which is common practice in Semporna. The islands you visit depend on the day of the week, with each route offering a different underwater experience.Monday & Thursday: Mabul & Kapalai – world-famous for macro life, with frogfish, nudibranchs, and other tiny reef critters that underwater photographers love.Tuesday, Friday & Sunday: Mataking & Pandanan – known for healthy coral reefs, clear water, reef sharks, and excellent chances of spotting turtles.Wednesday & Saturday: Si Amil – a more remote and less-visited island, offering dramatic scenery and the possibility of encounters with devil rays.Whichever route you take, you'll enjoy three guided dives with opportunities to spot sea turtles, colourful reef fish, rays, and vibrant coral gardens. Visibility varies with the season, but Semporna's rich marine life makes every dive rewarding. What to Expect2D1N join-in fun dive trip for certified divers6 guided dives in total, with 3 dives on each daySmall groups with up to 5 divers per divemaster1-night stay in a shared twin or double ocean-view en-suite roomMeals plus drinking water, tea and coffeeReturn boat transfers from Semporna Seafest Jetty includedDive equipment hire and dive guide includedJetty fees, marine park fees and taxes includedSurface intervals on the boat or beach, depending on tideGood to KnowFor certified divers only. Start Point

Meet-up at Seafest jetty semporna(Seafest Jetty 海丰码头, Malaysia)
  • 08:30am
  • Notes: On your first day, please meet the team at Semporna Seafest Jetty at 8:30 AM and bring your luggage with you. For trips to Si Amil, Mataking, and Tun Sakaran Marine Park, you'll usually stop by the resort first, where you can leave your bags before heading out to dive. For Mabul trips, the dive sites are in the opposite direction, so the boat does not pass the resort first. In this case, you'll need to keep your luggage with you on the boat until you arrive at the resort after the dives. For peace of mind on departure day, we recommend booking onward transport from 6:00PM onwards, as return times may vary.

Meet your host

Started in 2018, this host was founded by Syed and Ella, a Malaysian-English couple who met through diving. Both are scuba diving instructors, so their work is shaped by real time spent underwater, not just sightseeing. Their connection to Sabah comes from its reefs, sea life and wild natural spaces, which they know closely through years of diving. That background gives guests a more grounded experience, especially if they’re curious about the marine world and want to explore Sabah with people who understand it from below the surface.
