Personalised sake tasting with premium picks & rare finds
If you’ve ever been curious about sake but had no idea where to start, this cosy pre-dinner tasting is the perfect way in. Led by Charles and Joan, experienced sommeliers who have travelled extensively across Japan, this tasting draws on years spent visiting over 100 sake breweries, wineries, and distilleries. Through close relationships with small, family-run producers, you’ll be able to sip your way through 5 premium sakes from top Japanese breweries - including rare finds that are hard to come by in Singapore.Unlike big, formal tastings, this is intimate and fully customisable to your taste. Whether it’s your first time trying sake or you already have a few favourites, the hosts will tailor the session to match your experience level and flavour preferences. It’s also incredibly affordable for the quality of sakes offered - think well-loved names like Nabeshima and Noguchi Naohiko Sake Institute. If you're keen to explore Japanese culture without hopping on a flight, or just want to kick off dinner with a little extra flair, this one’s for you. What to ExpectGuided tasting session with 5 specially selected artisanal sakesIntroductions to rare sakes from top breweries like Nabeshima, Mizubasho, and moreLight, pre-dinner bites to accompany the tasting sessionCosy, small-group setting with hosts who make sake easy to enjoyCustomised to your experience level and flavour preferencesRelaxed pre-dinner timing to ease you into the eveningGood to KnowNo prior knowledge of sake is needed—it’s beginner-friendlyIdeal before dinner, as this is a pre-dinner experience and no meal is servedHosted in an intimate space with limited spots, so book early if you're in a group

Meet your host

Joan’s sake journey started in Japan with a bridal business, but it was the conversations she had in small towns — with brewers and locals — that sparked something more lasting. Together with Charles, she brought that spirit home, creating a place where sake isn’t just poured, but appreciated for its story and care. Since 2013, they’ve been working closely with small breweries, focusing on sustainability (including cold-chain deliveries and an electric truck), and running tastings that feel more like friendly gatherings than formal events. For them, it’s all about genuine connection — with the sake, the makers, and the people who drink it.
