Slow travel at Bromo. Bromo sunrise with a quiet forest cabin & off road safari
If you’ve heard about Bromo, you’ve probably heard this too — wake up at midnight, squeeze into a jeep with a crowd, snap a few sunrise photos, and leave. It’s beautiful, but it can feel rushed and surface-level. This 3D2N trip does it differently. You still get the classic Bromo sunrise, but instead of rushing in and out, you slow things down with a stay in a forest cabin in Coban Rondo. After the early start, you come back to cool pine air and quiet trails, then head out again for a separate off-road safari through narrower, muddier forest tracks. So instead of one quick stop, you get two distinct landscapes — Bromo’s vast sand sea and savanna, and Coban Rondo’s dense forest and waterfall zone. The stay is a big part of it. Your cabin sits tucked uphill with gorgeous views of a pine forest, with an 84-metre waterfall just a 15-minute walk away. It’s quiet, unhurried, and feels like a proper retreat.Even the jeep rides feel different. Bromo is wide and volcanic. Coban Rondo is tighter, steeper, and more rugged. If you like 4x4 adventures, this gives you more than the usual route — it actually feels like two trips in one. What to ExpectPrivate 3D2N experience2-night cabin stay in Coban Rondo, with breakfastPre-dawn Bromo jeep trip with sunrise viewpoint, sea of sand and savannaCoban Rondo off-road safari through forest trails, rocky sections and muddy tracksCoban Rondo Waterfall is around 15 minutes’ walk from the cabinRoundtrip shuttle via MalangGuide, fuel, parking, helmet, insurance, mineral water, soft-copy photos and entry tickets includedApple picking includedGood to KnowExpect a very early start for Bromo, with preparation from around midnightMeals are not included apart from breakfast at the cabinThe cabin is on natural uphill terrain; from the car park, expect about 500m of walking and a few stairsThe off-road sections can be bumpy, with steep, rocky and muddy stretchesTemperatures are usually around 14°C to 26°C, and rain can quickly turn into fog by morningBring a warm layer, comfortable shoes and rain protectionCheck-in is 14:00 and check-out is 12:00Quiet hours at the cabin are 21:00 to 07:00No pets allowed
