She grows nationally recognised Menoreh Moka coffee, known for its distinct flavour. What makes it special? She plants coffee alongside cocoa trees and uses organic ingredients for fertilisers and pesticides — methods rooted in the land itself. You’ll walk the farm, learn how coffee is grown and processed, plant your own coffee tree, taste it at the source, and during harvest season, even try picking coffee cherries yourself. It’s scenic, grounded and gives you a deeper taste of Yogyakarta beyond its monuments.

Sunrise Views and Coffee Adventure in Yogyakarta

The tour was perfect! Budi (driver for today) arrived on time, drove safely and we got to Tumpeng Menoreh to see the sunrise.

Then went to the coffee farm (Menoreh Coffee Farm) and met Marwiyah. The coffee roasting with traditional methods was definitely exciting (I have much to learn).

Highly recommended! The early morning wakeup is worth it.

It was a very nice experience: locl people showing their coffee culture. We got to plant our own coffee tree! And that was a true gem! We made coffee from scratch and it tasted wonderful. We were surrounded by the 3 generations of the owner-family nd local students joined us. Unique experience and I highly recommend it!

A Coffee Journey with Yogyakarta's Artisan Coffeemaker

It was a very nice experience: locl people showing their coffee culture. We got to plant our own coffee tree! And that was a true gem! We made coffee from scratch and it tasted wonderful. We were surrounded by the 3 generations of the owner-family nd local students joined us. Unique experience and I highly recommend it!

I had a wonderful experience. The tubing place was closed due to high rainfall so the driver spoke to the head office and found a new location to go to and arranged everything. We even stopped at a coffee place on the way back to Jogja. Everyone was very friendly. I found it hard to accept that villagers pull you up at the end however I was told it is an additional income for farmers and it is an equitable system between the owner and the farmer. I helped pull some people up and had a chat with a farmer whilst pulling someone up. They were very friendly and kept saying thank you, although I don't think I helped much 🤣

It was a very lovely experience! We learnt a lot about coffee and it’s process from the plant up to the cup of coffee. We could roast our own coffee beans with the traditional method, which was really fun. And the host family is so kind! A must do trip to do if you are visiting Jogja!!!

Pak Krishna was our driver - picked us up on time, drove efficiently, felt safe, car was very clean. The cost per person may seem high, but it includes the Borobudur and Prambanan tickets (about $100 each) so it’s actually quite a bargain! We liked how we could take as much - or as little - time as we wanted. Lunch was also a lot better than I expected … we could order whatever we wanted from the menu and all included in the price.

We truly enjoyed every single minute of this unforgettable experience and left with a deep appreciation for the effort and love that goes into coffee production.
 This was a one-of-a-kind experience, and we can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Yogyakarta!

Highly recommend this whole day experience! Everything was great. From the guided tour of Borobudur to a wonderful lunch and free time in Prambaran wandering the temple compound. It’s a bit of driving but totally worth it!
