Local Farms in Indonesia

It was a very nice experience: locl people showing their coffee culture. We got to plant our own coffee tree! And that was a true gem! We made coffee from scratch and it tasted wonderful. We were surrounded by the 3 generations of the owner-family nd local students joined us. Unique experience and I highly recommend it!

A Coffee Journey with Yogyakarta's Artisan Coffeemaker

It was a very nice experience: locl people showing their coffee culture. We got to plant our own coffee tree! And that was a true gem! We made coffee from scratch and it tasted wonderful. We were surrounded by the 3 generations of the owner-family nd local students joined us. Unique experience and I highly recommend it!

Authentic experience at a family owned and operated small coffee plantation in central highlands of Bali; beautifully balanced coffee &amp; loved the genuine cupping experience with no gimmicks; the beans I bought tasted just as good at home (filter coffee using V60 &amp; Chemex). Despite a wet day, loved the tour and guided discussions which were given by younger staff/family with reasonable English.

Bean to Cup: Ethical Bali Coffee Journey

Authentic experience at a family owned and operated small coffee plantation in central highlands of Bali; beautifully balanced coffee &amp; loved the genuine cupping experience with no gimmicks; the beans I bought tasted just as good at home (filter coffee using V60 &amp; Chemex).  Despite a wet day, loved the tour and guided discussions which were given by younger staff/family with reasonable English. 

This was one of the most authentic organized activities of our trip. 

Our guide Gede was very knowledgeable not only about all things coffee but also about myriad of other cultivated and wild plants growing in the lush village of Kiadan Pelaga. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk through the coffee plantation and farms growing all kinds of fruits, vegetables and herbs, despite the rain. And the lunch prepared by our driver, (also named Gede) mother was one of the best meals we had in Bali. It was a simple home cooked meal but was full of flavor.

Organic Coffee Farm near Ubud | Community-run 

This was one of the most authentic organized activities of our trip. 

Our guide Gede was very knowledgeable not only about all things coffee but also about myriad of other cultivated and wild plants growing in the lush village of Kiadan Pelaga. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk through the coffee plantation and farms growing all kinds of fruits, vegetables and herbs, despite the rain. And the lunch prepared by our driver, (also named Gede) mother was one of the best meals we had in Bali. It was a simple home cooked meal but was full of flavor. 

Thank you for the nice trip. We learned a lot about coffee and Indonesian culture. 100% recommended. Also the driver and the people of the farm were very friendly!

 Juli was super informative guide and somehow made me way more interested in bees than I ever expected. Learning how important they are to the farm’s ecosystem was eye-opening.
 Tasting honey straight from different hives was honestly a core memories, each colony tastes different, which felt like a honey tasting flight 😄 Seeing how they harvest the honey without hurting the bees was really cool too.
 At one point it genuinely felt like watching a National Geographic episode… but live. Highly recommend!

Tasting honey straight from different hives was honestly a core memories, each colony tastes different, which felt like a honey tasting flight 😄 Seeing how they harvest the honey without hurting the bees was really cool too.

Juli is a super knowledgable guide who's enthusiasm and curiosity for bee keeping and farming is infectious. This close up encounter with the bees, learning about their ecosystem and lives (think Game of Thrones level of palace intrigue) makes this typically threatening creature a truly admirable point of interest. Highly recommend!! Walking around the farm and seeing all super interesting and tasty plants (cashew nuts, mulberries, bananas!) around is a bonus!

Their knowledge and passion for regenerative farming is incredible. You learn so much. The family and staff have the happiest vibes. The food is all fresh from the garden. And the animals (along with all of their personalities) are the icing on the cake. ☺️
