We've done most of the mountains in Southeast Asia, and we think that Mount Rinjani is still one of the most beautiful treks. Here you'll see gorgeous turquoise crater lakes and epic sweeping views of the neighbouring islands. It's also famous for being challenging, so it's on many bucket lists for people who want to stretch themselves!

Rinjani has 3 routes: Senaru (easier, crater rim), Sembulan (intermediate, summit), and Torean (summit). Torean is the most beautiful and least crowded as it's the newest route.

Rinjani Park is closed Jan-March due to weather. Best time to visit is April-Dec, with peak season being May-July. Expect some rain in April & Dec.

Rinjani is one of SEA's most beautiful (and challenging!) hikes, and is ideal for experienced hikers. Novices can tackle it as a goal, but train for 6+ weeks beforehand.

Rinjani treks sell out – book early! The summit is challenging, so train up or opt for easier Senaru route. For a scenic, less-crowded route, we'd highly recommend Torean.
