The tour was very good. Car with aircon, comfortable seats (even to lean back like a bed) and a nice driver. The accomodation was good expect by the waterfall. There the room had no window and was dark. The trips to the spots were with local guides. It depends of this guide how the experience at the spots is. We had one superkind and nice guide, in another place the guide seemed not to motivated. The driver and some local guides spoke wuit good english. We liked mount bromo and tumpak sewu a lot. The mount ijen was impressiv but too crowded for our opinion. All in all it was a recommondable trip and is worth its mony.

The ride to Bali really made a dent in the full experience. DO NOT book an add on for that much money. We paid EUR70 for a boat, plus ride to Bali (which is next to your last day destination Ijen, the boat is 10k and a grab to Bali is 700-800k). We arrived and got the most uncomfortable ride imaginable without AC (4H drive after hiking Ijen the whole night - aka stinky and sweaty). Not sure how that’s EUR35 a person. Other than that, the whole experience in Java was amazing. Our driver Arif was just the sweetest. When one of us got sick he even made sure to stop at a local fruit market to get some vitamines. Truly amazing experience. Just book the add on yourself - the harbour to Bali is like 40 mins from Ijen

I thought the itinerary was well planned out. All three places that we went - Tumpak Sewu, Kawah Ijen and Mt Bromo were beautiful places to visit. Our driver was really friendly and helped us with communicating with the locals. Our accomodation and transport was all taken care of as well so we didn’t have to worry about that throughout the trip. Overall I would recommend others to go for this trip!

Great tour! The guide that was with us for all the days was friendly, on time, and a good driver and photographer. We never had to worry about getting tickets or checking in and out. The local guides were all friendly as well (and they are very keen to photograph you!), but unfortunately not really that knowledgeable about the place visited. Expect to be in the car for quite a few hours each day as the different places are quite far apart (plenty to see from the window). Also the itinerary as listed here has a different order. Ours was Surabaya-Malang-Taman Sewu-Bromo-Ijen-ferry to Bali, which seems more logical but also means you need to get up very early (at 5:30, 3:45 and 00:00 (!)) on consecutive days. This might not be an issue if you are jet lagged anyway :-) also there is plenty of time to rest in between. The hotel at Taman Sewu was okay, our bathroom had some drainage issues (great food though and it’s right across the entrance). The facility at Bromo (Cafe Lava) is quite nice and the one right before Ijen is an actual resort with a pool (although you only stay there for a few hours really, enough to take a swim). Overall would definitely recommend!

Der Trip war etwas vom schönsten was wir bisher erlebt haben. Einzigartig und abenteuerlich. Besonders die Sonnenaufgangstour zum Bromo war magisch. Man sollte daran denken, dass wenn man die Tour bucht, sich dessen bewusst ist, dass sie sehr intensiv ist. Man fährt viel und lange Auto und muss immer früh in der Nacht aufstehen. Aber was ihr erleben werden ist es allemals wert! Was sehr schade war und weshalb wir die Tour nicht mehr bei Mount Bromo Travel buchen würden, war dass kein Guide richtig englisch sprechen konnte. daher war die Kommunikation etwas schwierig und wir konnten nicht sehr viel über die Ausflugsziele und über Java kennenlernen.

We had an amazing time with Mount Bromo Travel. Our driver Arif was fantastic, he spoke good English and really looked after us by providing great food recommendations and answering any questions we had. All the local guides were fantastic and went above and beyond to provide an experience at all of our stops. The company was happy to adapt our itinerary based on our flight times and communicated with us well. Our highlight was the view over Ijen crater at sunrise.
