This is a 5 day trip in total - it includes a 3 day trek to Mt Tambora's rim and will give you more time to explore the volcano. Stay at Rik's Guesthouse the night before and after the trek.Please Note: This activity is closed from October 1st - April 31st due to bad weather conditions.

Day 1: Bima - Mt Tambora

You'll journey from Bima to Tambora with scenic local life along the way
- Morning: Transfer to Tambora.
- This will take 5-6 hours by car.
- Night: Arrive at Tambora
Day 2: Tambora

Today you'll make your way up to the rim of Mount Tambora.
- Morning: 45 mins road journey to the base of Mt Tambora (30 mins by car, and 15 mins by motorbike)
- Hike up Mount Tambora
- Afternoon: Spend the night at the crater
Day 3: Tambora

Today you'll get to enjoy a spectacular sunrise view!
- Morning (1am): Wake up and hike to the rim to enjoy the sunrise
- Spend the day hiking around the volcano and spend the night camping.

Rik who runs Visit Tambora dreamt of being an archaeologist and participated in the excavation of Tambora. When the excavation completed, he started Visit Tambora to share his passion for Mt Tambora with travellers.

Basic first aid supplies (e.g. bandaid, ibuprofen, antiseptic and gauze)
