Connect with Chiang Dao’s wild nature through gin or scents
What if your next favorite creation didn’t come from a shelf, but from your own hands and the wild mountain gardens of Chiang Dao? Meet Job and Pook, two souls who left behind Bangkok’s rush for fresh air, fragrant herbs, and a dream to share the magic of this land. When Job and Pook left Bangkok for Chiang Dao, they weren’t just looking for a prettier place to live. They wanted a life that felt like enough. Enough nature. Enough good food. Enough time to truly taste what the land could offer, and to share that with others. But when they arrived in these misty mountains, they realised that living simply isn’t always simple. The land here is rich, full of wild herbs, hill tribe tea, local spices but many local farmers didn’t know how to turn what they grew into things you could actually taste and enjoy. Job and Pook wanted to help change that. They were curious. They asked questions. They listened to neighbours, hill tribe foragers, local farmers, village elders and learned what they could: how to pick, process, ferment and transform Chiang Dao’s wild abundance into something you can truly taste and share. Tea was just the beginning. Today, they’ve created more than 20 unique, hands-on experiences that invite curious souls to discover this slow, satisfying way of living, one cup, one meal, one bottle at a time. Now, they invite you to join their curated 3-day, 2-night workshop — a slow, immersive journey where you can choose your own adventure:Will you dive into the art of wild gin? Forage fragrant botanicals, ferment, and distill a spirit that captures the mountain’s soul — taking home a bottle that’s uniquely yours.Or will you explore natural fragrance? Gather aromatic plants, extract essential oils, and blend your own signature scent — creating personal perfumes, candles, and shower gels inspired by Chiang Dao’s wild beauty.Whichever you choose, this workshop is more than an activity. It’s your chance to connect deeply with the land, meet those who care for it, and bring home a creation born from the mountains themselves. This is travel made different: authentic, hands-on, and unforgettable. What to ExpectChoose your workshop: Pick either the Wild Gin Workshop or the Wild Fragrance Workshop — both thoughtfully guided by Job and supports by Pook. Meet your host
Job and Pook are a couple who swapped the busy streets of Bangkok for the quiet beauty of Chiang Dao. They’ve built a home in the mountains that doubles as a place for learning, sharing, and enjoying good food. What started with a curiosity about local ingredients soon grew into a hands-on journey with tea—learning everything from picking to fermenting. Since 2019, they’ve been inviting others to join them in workshops that explore food, nature, and local traditions. Their small garden, lovingly tended with organic methods, and their strong ties with local farmers show how rooted they are in their community. Job and Pook’s place is more than just a home—it’s where connections are made.
