Come along with a local coffee truck owner and learn a heartwarming never-heard-before story about Thai coffee. This experience includes visiting local farms, learning about coffee production, and even making your own cup of coffee with a local coffee truck owner! Your host will treat you to a cup of the good stuff at her regular spot in Chiang Mai and then take you for a visit to Thep Sadet, a small village in Chiang Mai Province that is the heart of the coffee-growing community here.About Thep Sadet villageThep Sadet, nestled in the hills around Doi Saket in Chiang Mai Province, is a quaint village with a remarkable story. Prior to 1986, the community was divided between rice farmers and jute growers. The jute processing, unfortunately, contaminated the water used for rice cultivation, leading to conflicts and sick water buffalo. However, a transformative shift occurred with the introduction of the coffee bean, the catimor varietal arabica in 1986. The villagers, now united, cultivate this fine coffee, fostering a harmonious coexistence. What makes Thep Sadet truly special is their adoption of the unique "honey" process in coffee production. Unlike conventional methods, the "Honey" process preserves the sugary mucilage of the cherry during drying, allowing for fermentation and imparting distinctive flavors with a moderate acidity. This technique not only transformed the village's agricultural practices but also elevated Thep Sadet to a place of significance in the world of exceptional coffee cultivation.

Meet your host
Founded by Mind, an altruistic lady who saw the need to defend her local community economically. Mind started her own coffee truck called: My Moka Coffee in Chiang Mai during the pandemic lockdown. Graduating from tourism, she was compelled to take action in helping local drivers and tour guides who was suffering from the lockdown. She ventured out and started assembling local drivers and tour guide, helping them develop meaningful tours and trails for locals. Having faith that one day, when the borders are opened again, she and her team will be able to share the love they have for Chiang Mai.
Today, My Day Tour is actively running tours around Northern Thailand.
