Authentic Vietnamese home cooking class with local market visit & Viet coffee
If you're looking for an intimate, home-style cooking experience in Da Nang, this is it. Unlike larger, more commercial cooking classes, this one takes place in a local family’s home, giving you a true taste of Vietnamese hospitality. Most cooking classes start with a local market visit, but this is more homey. You'll meet your Seek Sophie host Jolie or her team, at a local cafe to have some Vietnamese coffee - a relaxed moment to get to know each other. Then, visit a one of Da Nang's largest local markets and learn how Vietnamese families choose produce for everyday meals. You can also buy some local fruits to enjoy at the end of your cooking class! Head to Jolie’s family home for a hands-on cooking session using recipes passed down through her family. With the fresh ingredients from the market, you’ll prepare four traditional Vietnamese dishes under Jolie and her family’s guidance, then sit down together to enjoy your meal and have good conversation. This is perfect for travellers who love immersing themselves in local culture and want a hands-on experience beyond just tasting delicious food. Plus, by joining this class, you're contributing to the Poor Children’s Fund, which helps provide meals for underprivileged children. What to ExpectVisit a lively local market and learn how Vietnamese families shop for fresh ingredients.Enjoy a traditional cup of Vietnamese coffee and swap stories with your host.Cook four authentic Vietnamese dishes using family recipes.Dine together in a cosy home setting and savour the dishes you’ve made.Support a meaningful cause - part of the class fee goes towards providing meals for disadvantaged children.Good to KnowThe class takes place in a local home with an air-conditioned cooking space.Includes all ingredients, a welcome drink, coffee, and cold drinking water. You’ll receive copies of the recipes in English to take home.Transport to and from the class is not included. This experience is perfect for all skill levels - no prior cooking experience needed!

Meet your host
Jolie has been welcoming guests into her home since 2016, continuing a family tradition of sharing food and culture. Her family has been cooking with visitors for years, passing down recipes and techniques that have been in their family for generations. While they aren’t professionally trained chefs, they know the real secrets of Vietnamese home cooking. More than just a cooking class, Jolie’s kitchen is a place where people connect over food and daily life. She also uses her classes to support children in need—part of the proceeds go towards a fund that helps poor children in ethnic minority schools. With Jolie, you’re not just learning to cook; you’re becoming part of something bigger.
