Coffee journey from bean to brew with Vietnamese tastings and tips
If you're curious about how your morning brew came to be — from wild coffee forests in Ethiopia to your favourite cup in Saigon — this workshop is for you. Designed by coffee experts who are shaping Vietnam’s coffee scene, this isn’t your typical café class. You'll dive into the rich history of coffee, explore its many varieties and processing methods, and take part in a cupping session with four unique Vietnamese coffees — including rare varietals you probably haven’t tasted before. What makes this experience stand out is who's behind it. It’s run by passionate roasters and green bean exporters who work directly with farmers across Vietnam. They even champion Liberica — an under-the-radar coffee type that makes up less than 2% of global production and holds promise for a more sustainable coffee future. You'll get insight not just into brewing, but into how your coffee choices can make a real impact. This is great for travellers who are coffee lovers, sustainability-minded, or just love learning directly from local leaders in their field. It's ideal if you’re looking for something a bit more meaningful than your standard café run — and yes, you’ll walk away knowing how to make better coffee at home, too! What to ExpectLearn the origins of coffee, from Ethiopia and Yemen to todayExplore different Vietnamese coffee varieties and processing techniquesTake part in a guided cupping session with four types of Vietnamese coffeeGet expert brewing tips and recommendations to level up your home coffee gameEngage directly with roasters who work hands-on with farmers and rare coffee types

Meet your host
Hana started roasting and brewing coffee in 2014 before training at the SPC Coffee Academy in Seoul. In 2016, she returned to Saigon to create 96B Experiment, a cosy space above a pastry and chocolate shop. For Hana, enjoying coffee is about staying open-minded and appreciating the effort behind each cup—there’s no right or wrong, just what you like.
Her co-founder, Thái, left a corporate job after realising coffee was his true calling. With experience from living in multiple countries, he brings a unique perspective to design, marketing, and long-term planning.
Together, they work to highlight the diversity of Vietnamese coffee beyond Robusta, sourcing directly from farmers and continuously learning to share the best of Vietnam’s coffee culture with the world.
