Review Body: Decided to do a new activity for my birthday and attended the Art & Music Jam | Paint & Play a Ukulele session with a friend. We were welcomed to SGM to learn the basic of playing an ukulele with light-hearted and refreshing methods. After an hour of learning about chords, strumming patterns and attempting to play Despacito as a team of 4, we moved over to Avant-Garde to play on a brand new ukulele. (And they have a puppy called Merah 💯) With the guidance of the staffs who played a major role, making the entire experience extremely enjoyable as they listened to what I liked to paint on my personal ukulele without being intrusive and judgement, and helped to achieve the color and design that I had in mind. The comforting environment, amazing staffs and Merah can make you forget about your troubles just for that few hours and immerse in painting. Definitely an experience to remember for a life time and would return again if they have another workshop that strikes my interest. They also gave me a present for my birthday! (I forgot to take my ukulele bag 😂 so remember to grab yours before leaving!)

Review Body: Dani was an incredible host; his passion for art and teaching shone through! He taught us how to mix colours and types of brushstrokes we needed to achieve the look we wanted, and he encouraged us to experiment and use as much paint as we needed to test and learn. Over the few hours we spent, he shared with us the story of how he started this studio during Covid, and how he was self-taught. Nonetheless, one of the standout features of this art jamming class was the absence of any time limits for us to paint like other studios! Also, you can paint on their walls 😆 There's a really pretty lounge outside the studio, which holds an art gallery for local artists' work, which were absolutely breathtaking to admire.

Review Body: Went for their leather cover book binding workshop on a Tues afternoon. My friend and I were the only 2 customers for the 1st 2 hours so it really felt like a private lesson. The instructor was really patient and friendly! (I'm so sorry I don't remember her name but I believe it starts with a H!) Super comfortable space! Easy to locate as well following the video instructions on their IG page. Materials were already prepared and laid out on the table when we came in. The instructor gave us full creative freedom and came in to help us when she saw us struggling. Book binding with a leather cover is quite unique and you are able to customize it to an extent. Highly recommend this activity for all!

Review Body: It was a surprise birthday plan for my friend on her actual birthday and i know she had enjoyed her day so much! The young lady artist taught us how to color our ukulele from empty to something and we felt so satisfied with our work! There was another guy who had taught us how to play 1 song from the ukulele when we have zero knowledge of playing chords. The both of them has been very patient with us, even when time was up, they did not chase us away but let us complete our work! We will definitely come back again! Thanks to the handsome ukulele teacher and pretty young lady artist...you both rocks! I am sorry to have forgotten their names but I will sure remember their faces! 😊

Review Body: Had a really amazing experience with the Team at Avant-Garde Art Space. Went for the customisation of our own personal Paper Shoot Camera and had a wonderful time painting away. The team was patient and always ready to help when we needed it. Though the space was small, and there were many people, it didn't feel uncomfortable at all. Instead, there was a sense of warmth at the venue, to have many like-minded creatives gather to paint. 10/10 would recommend taking up any of the activities organised by them! :D Also, we were not chased away despite the activity having a time-limit. They are too kind <3 P.S.: Say hi to their lovely doggo :)

Review Body: Absolutely enjoyable fun class with Dani. He explained how to play Ukelele during the first hour and taught us how to play Jason Mraz song. Second portion, we went on to personalize our Ukelele and had our fun painting and chatting at the same time. We also learn how to string our Ukelele from scratch. Totally recommend this for a fun and lighthearted activity between friends or couple, or even team bonding session. We even went overtime with our painting session, Dani didnt mind it at all. We would like to say a big Thank you to Dani for today’s fun!

Review Body: It was my very first experience visiting an Art Space. Though I booked it for my son I quite liked it myself. The teachers were well versed in their skill and made us feel very comfortable during out stay. My son had a great (extra-)time painting his Lego man. One thing that stood out was their focus on making my son enjoy the time spent there. Also while I booked a 2hr session, we actually spent 3hrs completing the painting but Dani politely refused to take any extra change for the additional time spent. Way to go guys, very impressed!

Review Body: Love the place, it is like a hidden gem in an industrial building. All materials provided for the paper shoot camera even the 64GB SD card which I had initially thought was not included. There was no time limit for me, a lot of space to work with, acrylic paints, brushes, water, paper towels, pencil and eraser as well. A nice layer of varnish over the finished work for about 10-15mins really helped seal the work and made it brighter too since is the glossy varnish. Thanks for the refreshment as well the weather is really hot.

Review Body: I loved my time at the studio during the Art Jam Session. I randomly came across this workshop on my Singapore trip and I'm so glad I did. Dany—the instructor for the workshop was extremely kind, patient, and enthusiastic throughout. He pushed me to try acrylics for the first time and guided me well. For anyone looking to let their creative selves out, this is the place! Plus, you can stay there, work on your art piece, and chill for as long as you like. As Dany said - Art can't be rushed; it takes time.

Review Body: Brought my boyfriend down for the Ukelele Workshop on his birthday & notified the team on the fact - we were complete beginners, so when our instructor Amanda taught us how to play happy birthday on the ukelele, I was so impressed that we were actually able to do it! The team was also had great knowledge in assisting us with our paintings & we were able to complete our ukelele painting in 3 hours! Thank you so much for the great birthday, this is hands down the best workshop we have attended!

Review Body: Took my child for a watercolour workshop. Teacher Mario was warm, patient and knowledgeable. Most importantly, my child enjoyed the class and created a piece of artwork she loved. The space opens up to an art gallery and the art studio is mysteriously hidden behind a bookshelf! Also managed to explore the area after dropping off my child for the workshop. Enjoyed a nice cafe session at The Cottage. The nearby Moments eatery also offered nice NZ steaks, which we had after the workshop.

His other 2 members has help me with my blending after hours of not perfecting it hahahaha. Review Body: Surprised my boyfriend with an afternoon with these folks involving a Uke lesson and Uke painting session right afterwards. He really enjoyed himself. Shane and Hillary were friendly and approachable teachers. At the painting side, Dani and Mario were super funny and helpful. Mario’s dog Merah also added some cute fun to the session. Overall, we had an amazing time. Perfect for all couples, whether you’ve experience in art/music or not. Thanks guys!

Review Body: Amanda is a lovely instructor who guides patiently and gently offers great suggestions to make our art pieces better than we ever imagined. She helped mix the paints to get the right hues and did a demo which gave us first-timers the confidence to try things out. The studio is spacious and there is a sense of timelessness, with no one rushing us to finish our piece. It’s a birthday treat for my friend and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Review Body: This was a surprise activity for my husband’s birthday. We had a short session on the basics of playing the Ukulele and got a chance to learn how to play Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” and also “Happy Birthday”. The painting experience was really great too and we had ample time to finish painting and even overran our timing. Our host, Dani, was really awesome and helpful throughout. It’s a really chill and relaxing activity, so would totally recommend!

Review Body: This experience was exceptional and extremely value for money 💯 . It was a visual arts and musical experience in one. Amanda and CZ are very patient and talented. I learnt paint blending techniques and gasp I genuinely can play the ukulele now! Amanda taught an authentic music class that lasted almost an hour once we finished painting and even went on to teach us how to tune the ukulele to equip us for future independent playing. Review Body: We had 2 instructors who were wonderful - Danny (warm and personable, and made art to a noob like me more accessible) and Amanda (expert blender who gave lots of direction and help on how to paint). Before coming, I thought I would have a fun hangout and a half finished amateur painting but at the end of it I had both a fun hangout and a piece of art I was proud to hang at home. So happy and satisfied!! The great instructors made our day.

We were given space to express ourselves and were not rushed. There were good vibes in both locations, the painting studio and the music studio, which made the entire session very memorable. Review Body: The instructor and his partners were very friendly and patient. As a beginner, i totally have no problem in finishing a painting under the guidance of instructor. The instructor allowed us to stay more than the stipulated 2 hours to finish our painting. The session was even more memorable with the presence of Meimei who stay with us throughout the session! Would highly recommend this studio to anyone who is interested in art jamming:)
