Pom Pom Island Resort & Spa

Malaysia
|
Pom Pom Island, once featured (together with Mataking) in Expedition Robinson, the Swedish version of hit reality TV show Survivor. It is around 45 minutes by boat from Semporna; it has rich tropical vegetation and is surrounded by white sand and the turquoise waters of the Celebes Sea. If you are lucky, you might witness the hatching of the eggs and release of baby turtles to the sea while strolling around the atoll. This is a perfect getaway for couples and families. You will not be disappointed by the mesmerising nature around the resort and there are plenty of activities offered for in-house guests on the island.

Very slow season here on the island due to corona virus but we have enjoyed our time a lot. Staff are all so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much to ask. You can snorkel around the jetty and see a lot of sea life. Rooms are big and comfy. Food is great. I would say they can do a bit better to offer a bit more free wifi to guests but this is a minor point - just remember to set your phone to low data mode and stop app updates to reduce your data use - you will get 1 gig free on checkin. A lovely visit for us though it was very slow due to hardly any guests A big thanks to the team that looked after us: (sorry if I forgot to mention someone ) Jessie at KK that organise the trip for us, Mary Jane , Vivienne, Enily, Muhamad Zafri Mohd.norfarhansyah Esa Fiona Grace Loyd Marlon Hao Sebastian Chin Lester Tham and the rest of the crew!

One of the most beautiful holiday of ever! Amazing staff, the incredible scenario and some of the best diving I ever had. A dream for snorkelers too thanks to the beautiful turtles and the great job done on the island to protect and preserve them. Respect this place for making available all of this. People has to learn from place like that and start fighting the sea pollution.

the place is amazing, the wood houses are nice too and it seems this hotel was built for a hight standar, the price you pay is also according to that! but than the management and the amenities are terrible, dinner and lunch are terrible ( bad chinese food) anf if you want to eat something decent you much pay more extra for it, the "entertainment" is ridiculous ( empty bars, chinese dance with karaoke style..."). its a piety because the island is really beautiful, but it does not worth what you pay

Our 25th Wedding Anniversary, we decided to take our family to Pom Pom to celebrate. The staff were amazing, and could not do enough for us - they even surprised us with a special cake for our anniversary! Watched the release of one-day old hawksbill turtles with Orianna, the resident marine biologist, who was very informative and helpful. Went snorkelling to find (and found many!) adult turltes, amidst the most pristine blue ocean, filled with exotic sealife and colourful corals. A truly magical experience, beautiful people, stunning scenery - what more could one ask for?

The reason we liked our stay here so much was basically the amount of marine life we saw snorkelling just jumping off the resort jetty. The room was spacious and comfortable. On the other hand the food was terrible, not what we expected from a luxury accommodation. They definitely have to do something about it!
