This is a sample itinerary and may be weather-dependent.
Day 1: Labuan Bajo - Sebayur Kecil - Penngah Kecil - Kalong Island - Wainilu
Labuan Bajo - Sebayur Kecil - Penngah Kecil - Kalong Island - Wainilu

Today you'll see vibrant corals, the migration of hundreds of bats at Sunset and experience a night dive in Wainilu.

Accommodation: Sokaraja Livaboard - Shared Dorm Cabin

  • 08:30am - Meet-up at Sokaraja Dive's Office
  • 9:30am: First dive at Sebayur Kecil. Enjoy an exhilarating drift dive amidst staghorn hard corals and turtles. You may even spot dugongs if you're really lucky!
  • 11:30am: Second dive at Pengah. An amazing wall dive site. You may spot turtles and sharks here.
  • 2pm: Arrive at Kalong to watch bats
  • 5pm: Night dive at Wainilu. Wainilu is a muck dive spot and is good for spotting small and rare camouflaged critters such as Frogfish, Rhinopia, Pictured Dragonets, Blue Ringed Octopus, Wonderpus, Zebra Crabs, Coleman shrimp, Ribbon Eels, Harlequin Shrimps, Nudibranchs.
  • 8pm: Overnight onboard
Day 2: Rinca Island - Siaba Kecil - Turtle City - Siaba Besar
Rinca Island - Siaba Kecil - Turtle City - Siaba Besar

Today you'll trek to see wild Komodo Dragons and dive at Turtle City!

Accommodation: Sokaraja Livaboard - Shared Dorm Cabin

  • 9am: Komodo-watching and trek at Rinca Island
  • 1pm: Dive in Siaba Kecil. Siaba Kecil has amazing hard corals home to green and hawksbill turtles. As with many of the dive sites in the channel, this can be an exhilarating drift dive. There is a large plateau full of staghorn hard corals. Turtles are almost a certain sighting at this dive site. Big schools of jacks like to sit in the current. Manta rays also pass by here, they might even stop at a cleaning station.
  • 3pm: Dive in Turtle City. Turtles and mantas come here to check themselves into a 'cleaning station'. It also has amazing hard corals and can be an exhilarating drift dive. There is a large plateau full of staghorn hard corals.
  • 5pm: Night dive at Siaba Besar. Also an amazing spot for drift diving with a healthy reef life and lots of marine animals.
  • 8pm: Overnight onboard
Day 3: Batu Bolong - Taka Makassar - Manta Point - Cauldron
Batu Bolong - Taka Makassar - Manta Point - Cauldron

Today you'll dive at the most beautiful dive site in Komodo National Park, and if you're lucky see Manta Rays!

Accommodation: Sokaraja Livaboard - Shared Dorm Cabin

  • 9am: Dive at Batu Bolong. Batu Bolong is a popular dive site in this area. The shallows of this dive site are covered in stunning hard corals. Turtles, manta rays, sharks, eagle rays, and for the lucky, dolphins all find this pinnacle an interesting place to pass by!
  • 11am: Dive at Manta Point. Komodo has a huge population of manta rays and Manta Point is one of the most popular spots to see them. Dive amongst manta rays that go up to 7m wide! You won't believe how big they are until you see them in person!
  • 1pm: Lunch
  • 3pm: Dive at Taka Makassar. May spot mantas here.
  • 5pm: Dive at Cauldron. Here, a small gap between two islands causes a fast flow of water, which will shoot you out at the end of the dive! The sloping hard coral reef is beautiful and teeming with fish. Manta Rays also live in the white sand at the edge of the reef.
  • 8pm: Overnight onboard
Day 4: Crystal Rock - Castle Rock - Bamboo Slope - Labuan Bajo
Crystal Rock - Castle Rock - Bamboo Slope - Labuan Bajo

Today you'll see exciting marine life - if you're lucky, you might spot sharks and rays!

  • 10am: Dive at Crystal Rock. Known as the 'Hard to Find Rock' as its pinnacles are completely submerged. Currents here are strong, but that increases your chances of spotting reef sharks! You'll also get to see turtles, napoleon wrasse, schools of sailfin snappers and batfish.
  • 12pm: Dive at Castle Rock. Crystal Rock breaks the surface of the water at low tide. Crystal Rock is especially suited for macro enthusiasts - spot pygmy seahorses in the sea fans; leaf fish and crocodile fish in the rocks; or even lady bug amphipods in the soft corals.
  • 1pm: Lunch
  • 4pm: Head back to Labuan Bajo
  • 05:00pm - End at Sokaraja Dive's Office

Luca and his soon-to-be-wife Beauty run a wonderful operation on their beautiful traditional Phinisi, the Sokaraja. We were a nicely balanced team of 7 divers. Some were more experienced than others, but all were more than competent. The boat owners, Luca and Beauty run a very tight ship. Everything was very well organised and resourced. The boat is comfortable for both sleeping and relaxing, and there is quiet space for those that want it. Be aware, however, that cabins are not air-conditioned at night after the generator is switched off, so you can expect it to be hot with only fans to keep you cool. Briefings are held in the main cabin and are detailed and comprehensive, supported by newly hand-drawn sketches of each dive site. All the dive equipment is brand new and of the Mares brand. Luca planned our whole trip and chosen dive sites very carefully to ensure we always dived at high slack water, the optimum. The diving was serious, but very enjoyable. Lots of strong currents and surges that went up, down and sideways. The crew of 5 looked after us very well and the food was plain but plentiful. The dive guides were first class and the crew were exceptionally efficient and friendly. Thank you to all. We sailed down the west coast of Flores and dived around the South of Rinca Island, before mooring up there overnight, then diving again in the morning before sailing off to South Komodo Island to dive Manta Alley. Well named - I've never seen so many large mantas in one place. Overnight at Padar Island, then diving there before heading off to North Komodo. Overnight there then diving at Batu Balong the following day. A long but relaxing afternoon sail back to LBJ rounded off our trip, arriving on time at 5 pm during the first half hour of rain of the whole 4-day trip! Important note: Komodo is a serious area to dive in. These are potentially dangerous conditions for the inexperienced. If planning a liveaboard experience, you will not do better than Sokaraja. However, you should have a MINIMUM of no less than 30 dives under your belt and be Advanced Diver qualified (ie qualified to dive to 30 m). Thanks everone for an excellent trip and experience.

Our guide Luca personally :) is incredibly experienced and I could learn a lot in the time, thank you very much Luca :) I will definitely come back. To the boat itself, everything is great. Beds, common area and the food is super inviting. The diving equipment is in a top condition highly recommended! I hope I get the chance to come back to Sokaraja

Me and my other 10 friends booked this boat for 2D1N trip around Komodo National Park for diving and snorkeling. We are so lucky that we saw lots of marine animal (turtles, mantas, black tip shark, and so many other fishes). Boat crews are kind and super helpful during the whole trip. They really took care of us, especially the cruise director Luca and Beauty. They make us feel like king and queen (they said this during the first briefing and they prove it!) We will definitely come back for more trip with them next time. Thank you Sokaraja!

Kudos to ERICK who guide us to find some turtles & manta rays! Been twice snorkeling in manta point but no luck, but this time he guide us perfectly!
