What you should know

Negombo is 10km away from the main international airport Katunayake (Colombo airport). From the airport, you can get here by taxi in 15-20 minutes (1500 rupees), local bus no. 240 (50 rupees) or tuk-tuk (800 rupees).

It is necessary to have a divemaster with you to ensure safety.

You should be good at swimming. You do not need to have a diving background if you are intending to attain your PADI certificate here.

The best months to visit are January, February, March, November, December

We recommend the above period because you would have:

  • Better visibility
  • Good weather
  • More activities available
