This was a fantastic trip! I know that leaving at 2:30 doesn’t sound appealing but it was definitely worth it. Everything was timed perfectly! The noodles and cocoa were a great addition to the floating market and the driver, boat diver and especially Ti were wonderful! Breakfast was a highlight. Not just the food but the ingenuity of the meal!

We generally don’t go on tours - in our experience, most are just promoting unsustainable practices. However, this tour was extremely educational and eye opening! Here is a bit of what we’ve learned - The floating markets in this area used to be a vital part of the local economy. However, as trade moved to land, the need for floating markets and their role changed- becoming wholesale only, leaving those smaller businesses (such as boat drivers) behind. This is where (sustainable) tourism has a place, as our guide pointed out by saying “we are their product now”, highlighting the fact that tourism does play a part in keeping tradition alive - example being the lovely boat driver that moved us through the small canals and thought us how to make traditional straw toys. All without speaking English or us speaking Vietnamese.

Fantastic Day in Nature
I had a fantastic day out in nature on this excursion. My guide had an extensive knowledge base and shared a wealth of information with me about the nature, landscape, local people, and culture. She was very attentive, humorous, and made a concerted effort to ensure I had an unforgettable experience. It was a wonderful outing that I would highly recommend to anyone.
The guide's expertise truly enhanced the experience, as she was able to provide fascinating insights and details that brought the natural surroundings to life. She had a warm and engaging personality, which made the tour both educational and enjoyable.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience that I would not hesitate to recommend. The beautiful natural scenery combined with the knowledgeable and hospitable guide made for an unforgettable day. This excursion is a wonderful way to immerse yourself in the local environment and culture.

This tour brought us to Mekong's key spots! I especially liked going to see Mekong floating market. We got to hear more about the locals' lives and try the less touristy snacks in the space.
It was also great that we were on a sampan because it used less fuel and it could bring us to the smaller alleys and corners of the place. The guide explained that using the bigger boat was not great for the environment since their trips still continued no matter what, e.g. if there were only 2 people the boats would still go out and it would be a waste of fuel. Also those boats would only go to the floating market and directly back so it would be quite a basic trip.
However, some spots did have quite a few groups of tourists going - e.g. the rice paper factory and the cacao farm, so it didn't feel very off the beaten path! Ultimately it was still interesting to see but it might have been better if there were less crowds.

The hosts were very welcoming and warm, and the place was really quaint and nice! The whole family helps out with the place, and it just felt so cosy and nice. Everyone was so sweet and kind, and the food and drinks were also so good.
The stay had a menu for other services like nails and massage as well. They also have quite a few thoughtful notes about being sustainable and intentional with what they chose for the stay.
The stay had a lot of mosquitoes but they provide mosquito repellent lotion and a mosquito netting over the bed! In the toilet there’s also a sign that says to cover the mirror after use with the cloth they provide because they have wildlife that come in and peck at the mirror if they see their reflection. Little things like that make the place seem very homely and well thought out.
The tour brought us to a different side of Mekong, which was really interesting to see. We got to see the pottery kilns, learn how to weave baskets with water hyacinth, and had a delicious meal at a local family's place.

Really good trip out of HCM to visit the floating marketing. This floating market is for locals and hence requires a bit more travel out of HCM. Spent quite a bit of time out on the river, including time for breakfast and fruits. Then paid a visit to a rice noodle factory and chocolate factory guide Thuy was fantastic, she was a joy to be with and very patient with me and my 7 year old daughter. Can consider pairing with a trip to lung ngoc hoang - green lung of Mekong - if there is time. Strongly recommend if you want a local experience without the tourist traps eg shopping etc.

The tour was perfectly organized and as described. We had a really great tour guide in Daisy (she would have deserved more than 5 stars). She told us a lot of interesting facts about the nature park and life in Vietnam in understandable English. The tour will remain a very fond memory for us...👍

I booked a tour to visit Lung Ngoc Hoang and felt like I was returning to nature here. It is a very authentic tour that does not entice customers to shop.
The most interesting thing is that I can take a boat ride on the small canals, see the Melaleuca forest and the birds that live here in the closest way. When approaching the habitat of these species, the boat driver was considerate to turn off the engine so as not to affect them.
Don't think twice, book a Lung Ngoc Hoang tour.
