Cooking Classes in Indonesia

What a delightful way to spend the morning! We tasted fruit at the market and were introduced to all the aromatics needed for the curry paste we made later. Then when we got to the farm we saw a myriad of exotic plants, spices, vegetables and fruits, picking what we needed for the cooking class. The class itself was well run, easy to follow instructions and a lot was prepped for us. Of course everything was cleaned up after us as well. The food we cooked was so delicious, and generous! We had 2 entrees, 3 mains and a dessert. We certainly left well fed and very happy. I loved the experience and it was great value for money and time.

A Day of Batik & Culinary Magic in a Local Village

The batik and cooking classes at Leksa Ganesha are fabulous! Pak Hanung provided the experience of a lifetime. He was patient in showing us how to use the batik tools (canting) and helpful throughout the creative process. We thoroughly enjoyed walking through the village to learn about the community and how they work together. Ibu Tiru helped us fix a delicious meal and Pak Hanung sent the recipes to us in a follow-up message. Please do not hesitate to book this experience! It will be a highlight of your trip to Yogyakarta. The price is excellent for the services rendered. We tried a similar experience in Jakarta that cost twice as much and provided much, much less.

Small group, relaxed atmosphere, authentic recipes. Budda, our host was fun, funny and provided a wonderful opportunity to gain insight into the culinary world of Bali. Highly recommended!

Loved this cooking class! I had the morning class and as I am travelling solo I paired up with another girl to make the dishes.
 The market tour, walk round the garden and cooking instruction were all fantastic!

Got a driver who knows the place (we got ours from Seek Sophie as part of our day tour). The driver knew who to ask for assistance when we arrived.

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Mr. Pepe. Petting and massaging his doggo Mr. K was a bonus to our outdoor chat. Loved that Mr Pepe is a wise soul who exchanged views on my native country when he visited it. We of course left with a better understanding of the chocolate making world and about fair trade. My older child said he enjoyed Mr. Pepe's views of the world.

There is a separate visit for bookings if one wants to visit their cacao plantation. 

Chocolate making was really fun with Ms. Made and her colleague helped to take photos and videos for us. Expect lots of fun selecting the beans, pounding and sieving it etc. 

At the end of the tour, we brought back our hand made chocolates and a bar of chocolates from their factory.
