If you want to see the Perfume Pagoda, you have to go with a local guide like Minh. Not only does he help you navigate the journey, but he also shares personal insights, history and cultural information about the area, its people and customs. It is a very beautiful and special place, and we were glad we got to see it. Highlights: Minh was a great guide. His English is good, he's friendly and helpful, and he gave us lots of information to make the visit much deeper. It is so beautiful. Totally worth the trip. The lunch was generous and yummy. I really liked that it was a small tour group, just 7 of us. Tips: It is quite a long day, so I would recommend taking extra snacks and water with you. You can also buy these along the way. Be prepared for the weather. We went on a very hot day which was a bit tough at times but Minh helped us out - umbrellas on the boat, finding patches of shade, and organising cable car passes (there's no way we would have been able to walk up!) etc. Take toilet stops when Minh recommends, he know which ones are cleanest. We visited outside of the festival period so it was very quiet - we liked this! But if you want a totally different experience you could choose to go during the festival (Jan-March). Embrace karaoke. No one cares if you sing badly.

Nice sleep with kind workers and 2 stops to get a quick bite or use the rest room

This was my first sleeper bus experience and it surpassed all expectations! The bed seat was comfortable and the stops along the way were nicely paced, with good food options.
