Review Body: Amazing experience! If you are a total beginner just like my niece and I, I strongly and happily recommend chef/baker/top hat Ser kiat :) 1. Her place (and as a host) is so chill, cozy and most importantly welcoming. Whether you are local or a tourist, you will love the view from the living room. Lots of greenery with an unobstructed view of JB lol. You can also explore the park downstairs and enjoy the sunset if you signed up for the evening session. AC was really comfortable and place super clean too! 2. Baker Ser Kiat is extremely knowledgeable, patient, encouraging and generously kind. She answered our most amateur questions to breaking down professional knowledge to layman terms. Easy to follow along and you definitely feel a sense of achievement! She was very observant and catered to my shy teen niece's preference and offered us a generous portion of tasting platter. I'm so grateful for that as my niece really enjoyed it! 3. Quality of the food and ingredients - chef's kiss! Great for couples, parent-child bonding, learners, girls hangout, tourists

Review Body: My friends and I went for shio pan baking workshop on Sunday afternoon and we totally enjoyed it. When we reached, there was already an aroma from the freshly bakes filled the house. The house was clean and spacioius. SK is a very experienced and skillful baker and also a very patient and friendly teacher. We were all able to bake our shio pans successfully and enjoyed learning from her. Overall it is a great time spent over the weekend with my friends that I would definitely recommend friends to go for a baking workshop. We ended up buying some other bread and cookies home too!

Review Body: Loved my shiopan baking class with SK in her beautiful home with a gorgeous view! I never expected to bake such professional looking shiopan today, but thanks to SK’s patience, generosity and detailed teaching, I did it. Her recipe works like a charm, and the shiopan tastes the best that I have ever had and the base stays crispy for many hours. Her furikake bagels are absolutely delicious too! Highly recommend learning bread baking with her and/or purchasing her delicious bakes!

Review Body: SK was a welcoming, friendly and encouraging host/teacher/baker. She explained each step patiently and answered all our questions to the best of her abilities. SK generously offered her baked goods for tasting too - banana bread was deliciousness, focaccia was moist and paired beautifully with the miso brown butter honey. It was a chilled and enjoyable baking session with my friends. Thank you for having us SK, we will be back! :-)

Review Body: Such a fun and wholesome experience! I’ve been so obsessed with shio pan lately, so getting the chance to actually learn how to bake it myself was such a joy. The class was so easy to follow, and I loved how cosy and laidback the whole setting felt, it made the experience even more enjoyable. Would totally recommend it, and I’m already excited to see what other classes SK/The Daily Staples has in store 🌟

Review Body: Had a great time learning how to bake shio pans on a weekday afternoon. SK also shared a lot about her bread knowledge which was so helpful! There was also a mini tasting session where we could try her bakes and it was all delightful! Besides the shio pan that we baked, I also brought home more Matcha Azuki bean shio pans and those were sooo good! Highly recommend this class!

Review Body: Fabulous experience making shiopan with SK!! She’s so knowledgeable and not stingy with her knowledge at all! She even organise 4 different sourdough for tastings with three kinds of dips for tasting!! While the distance was a bit far for me but I must say, it’s totally a worthwhile trip and experience. More importantly, the shiopans are so yummy!!

Review Body: Easy to follow even for people without prior baking/cooking experience. The session duration was perfect. The host was also very knowledgeable and shared a lot of tips on how we can customise our shio pan in future when we do it by ourselves at home. Overall, great experience for my friend and myself!

Review Body: Amazing experience. SK was such an amazing teacher. From the moment you step in to the end of the class, the experience was perfect. It feels less of a formal class to learning from a close friend over good laughs and memorable moments. Me and my wife will definitely do it again.

Review Body: Attended the focacia bread making session and really enjoyed ourselves! SK explained in detail and let us know how we could modify it if we lacked any baking tools. We got to taste a generous amount of her other bakes (and homemade flavoured butter) in between proofing which were super delicious. The focacia bread we made and brought home was really good too

Cosy Shio Pan class with real one-on-one help
Shio pan may look simple, but getting it right is surprisingly difficult. The signature contrast of a crisp, buttery bottom and soft, fluffy centre takes real technique, timing, and an understanding of dough - which is exactly why learning from an experienced baker makes all the difference.Held in the cosy comfort of a home bakery, this intimate class is led by a baker with culinary training and over 10 years of experience. With a small teacher-to-student ratio, you’ll get personalised guidance throughout the session, making it especially beginner-friendly and far less intimidating than larger baking classesOver 4 hours, you’ll learn how to mix, shape, proof, and bake your own Shio Pan from scratch, while also making a flavoured butter that regulars love. The class is thoughtfully paced around the dough-making process, so while your bread rests, you’ll get to enjoy a tasting of your host’s other bakes instead of simply waiting around. One of the most valuable parts of the experience is learning how to adapt bread-making techniques to Singapore’s heat and humidity. Rather than blindly following instructions, you’ll gain practical knowledge and confidence you can actually bring back into your own kitchen long after the class ends. What to Expect4-hour join-in Shio Pan baking workshop in a home-based bakerySmall class size with close guidance from an experienced bakerHands-on practice with dough handling and shapingMake and take home 3 Shio PansLearn to make your own flavoured butterMini tasting set while the dough restsAll ingredients and materials includedGood to KnowNo full meal is included, only a tasting setThe duration includes a 1 hour break where you can explore your host's neighbourhood, or order food in and hangout with her!For kids sign up, we will only accept kids who are 7 years old and above, and come with an adult.

Lerne deinen Gastgeber kennen
