This 2D1N Kinabatangan wildlife experience is perfect for wildlife lovers who want to stay in a heartfelt, community-run lodge. This Orang Sungai-run lodge is basic but cozy, with the friendliest local guides. Seriously, the staff here are all from the surrounding villages and they'll treat you like family. You'll spend your days cruising the wildlife-packed Kinabatangan River, searching for pygmy elephants, proboscis monkeys, exotic birds, and maybe even a sneaky crocodile or two!What to expectDay 1: Arrive and settle into your simple but comfortable digs at your lodge. Then, it's time for your wildlife adventure! Hop aboard a boat and cruise the Kinabatangan River, spotting all sorts of creatures lazing on the banks. As night falls, the adventure continues – keep those eyes peeled for nocturnal critters like owls, wild cats, and glowing crocodile eyes!Day 2: Wake up with the jungle! A misty morning cruise offers a whole new perspective—hear the birdsong, spot sleepy proboscis monkeys, and breathe in that fresh rainforest air. After a hearty breakfast, it's time to say farewell to your newfound Borneo friends and head back to civilization.Optional Add-ons:Private Transport: If you require a private transfer due to late arrival or early departure, a private care can be arranged at the price of MYR 437 for up to 4 passengers.Importnat Tips:You must be in Sandakan by 12:30PM on the first day and your flight cannot be earlier than 1PM on the last day in order to take part in the group pick-up; otherwise you will require a private pick up/drop-off.Pick up at the airport is from the Starbucks. Once you arrive, you can make yourself comfortable there and the driver will come around with a whiteboard with your name on it to collect you.For your comfort make sure to bring: bug spray, light raincoat or poncho, boots for kids, as the host does not have child sized boots for the jungle trek.The host does not sell alcohol, but if you would like to bring wine or beer, the host will be happy to store them in the communal fridge!For any on-site purchases, you can use a credit card, however there is a 2.5% credit card fee, so if you would like to avoid that, please do prepare cash as there is no ATM anywhere close.Your drop-off location will be confirmed and arranged upon your arrival when you complete a form at reception.Embrace the simplicity - this is all about getting close to nature, not luxury amenities.Boat Capacity:We offer boat trips with a capacity ranging from 10 to 18 passengers, depending on the type of boat used, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all guests.For accommodations, we provide a variety of options:Double Rooms: 5 rooms (2 guests per room)Family Rooms: 4 rooms (4 guests per room)Deluxe Twin Rooms: 3 rooms (2 guests per room)Basic Twin Rooms: 3 rooms (2 guests per room)Dorm Beds: 8 beds available in a shared dormitory setting*Please note, availability may vary depending on the number of bookings for both the lodge and boat capacity.Pick up & Drop off schedule:Pick up at Sandakan town: 12:20-12:30 pmPick up at Sandakan airport: 12:30-12:40 pmPick up at Sepilok area: 1:00-1:10 pmDrop off at Sepilok area: 10:30-10:40 amDrop off at Sandakan airport: 11:00-11:30 amDrop off at Sandakan town: 11:30-12:00 noon

  • Notes: From Sandakan Airport pick up is at around 12:30-12:50pm. Please wait near the Starbucks. Our driver with a mini whiteboard with your name on it will come by to find you. Please note this is a group pick-up. Other guests will be picked up at the same time. Departure will take place once all guests have arrived. You can choose to be dropped off at any of the three locations and you can let your host know your preference when you arrive at the lodge.

    To secure your spot, your host will turn away other guests. Because of this, cancellations aren't allowed.
  • Extenuating Circumstances Policy

    For tourists and travellers, in the event of a flight cancellation requiring a session cancellation, a proof of flight cancellation is necessary. They must inform us at least 28 hours before the trip date, and a 50% cancellation fee will be applied. Alternatively, they can choose to postpone the session.
