Review Body: We did the 2D1N jungle survival and camping tour and it was one of the most memorable experience of our Borneo trip. Henry is a terrific jungle survival guide. He is so enthusiastic about jungle survival that as soon as we got out there, he couldn’t stop talking about all the wonderful things to be discovered. His knowledge of the jungle is second to none and he taught us how to make fire, how to find food, how to make snares, how to find water and how to create a shelter - all requiring nothing more than a machete! We couldn’t have been happier with our experience and would recommend it to anyone with even a slightly adventurous nature and is curious about survival and the jungle. To us, the 2D1N tour is a perfect balance between leisure and adventure, but a customised 3-4 days trip would probably be ideal for someone who wants to dive into the jungle experience and get the most out of it.

Review Body: Deramakot Forest 4 days 12-15 August The best. from the organising & communication from Rajis, to the trip back to the hotel. Huge thank you to Con / Mitch & Max. Without their knowledge and tracking / spotting skills, this would have just been a normal trip. They do not stop, from dawn to dusk. Always make you feel welcome and safe. Con is so knowledgeable, The next Attenborough in the making. Room was good & comfortable. amazing food. Mitch does the best eggs I have ever had. Very professional team. Very lucky to see orangutans peacefully sitting and eating. elephants / Leopard cats and many many more. Huge big thanks to the team. Really made our holiday & year.

Review Body: Nous avons fait le 2D1N survival camp. C’était super et nos guides ont une vraie connaissance de la jungle locale. Nous avons fait plusieurs ateliers pour apprendre quelques bases de la survie. Très intéressant ! Cependant je m’attendais à quelque chose d’un peu plus « rustique », plus rude et plus physique. Nous avions quand même un certain confort avec les repas à chaque fois entièrement préparés par les guides et en quantité plus que suffisante. C’est un bon stage pour une première expérience. Un grand merci au passage à nos guides pour leur gentillesse et leur apprentissage.

Review Body: An excellent experience with LOST BORNEO company. My guide Mr Connelly was a man with 10 years of experience with Deramakot and he very clearly knew the place inside and out. He was able to spot so many different species of wildlife so easily and helped me find so many of my target species. Although we didn't manage to spot and photograph any wild cats, I still had an excellent trip thanks to him.

Review Body: Please Read!!! If you are looking to book a genuine and intimate wildlife experience, this is not it. You will be driving around in a 4WD for up to 10 hours a day, every single day of the tour. When we did see wildlife, the tour guides would clap at them to try and scare them in to moving or wake them up. A guide did this to a mother Orangutan on our tour, and the mother started growling at us and climbed down from where she was building her nest. We asked the guide what was happening, and he said she was “angry at us” and it was very cool and rare to hear this noise. This was obviously pretty upsetting and so we asked to leave as to not disturb the poor mum and her baby further. The guides said there was no need and proceeded to keep making noise and antagonising it further, even though we refused to engage and had asked to leave. It was only us on the tour so it was weird that they didn’t listen to our request. The guides then admitted once the orangutan and her baby had left, that she would indeed have to find another place to rest for the night as we had scared her out of that one. It felt horrible to be a part of. The 4WD also broke down twice during our tour and the guides were consistently late to meeting times. The food is cooked by the guides and is pretty uninspiring for the cost of the tour. Also, they confirmed with me multiple times that it was okay I was vegetarian, and then when I arrived at the tour, they didn’t even know what the word meant and asked if i could eat chicken. The shower was covered in black mould (and I mean COVERED) and the beds were as hard as bricks. While we did see some animals, the way in which we saw them was not worth it to me. Also it’s important to note, all Deramakot tours operate out of the same facilities, so I wouldn’t expect you would get a much better result from another tour group. Also - the entire area is an active logging site. The tours were backdropped by the sounds of trees falling down and we were constantly covered in dust by logging trucks driving past.

Review Body: Being in the jungle and having LOST as a tour guide and driver are great. Unfortunately Sophie Seeks sells this tour as a private tour and instead is was a group tour. This is in my opinion a big difference and Sophie Seeks should not sell it like this, these are false conditions. The initinary written by Sophie Seeks is also not even close to reality. Especially for a company that claims that they really go for specific tours and that they know what they offer this is very far from reality.

Itinerary Description: 0800 hrs Pick up from hotel at Kota Kinabalu and drive for 6-7 hours to MBSC. Lunch at Sapulot Town. 1530 hrs Arrived at MBSC, check in, visit the Nature gallery showcasing the beauty of the ancient jungle of Borneo. Dinner. 2030 hrs Embark on a (2) two-hour drive into the jungle in search of the elusive nocturnal wildlife. If the weather not permits, then the next day you will be taken on a Dawn drive.

Itinerary Day 2

Itinerary Description: 0530 hrs Morning Walk (1) one hour (30) thirty minutes around MBSC. Breakfast. 0800 hrs Drive to Maliau Rim Observation Tower, enjoy the beautiful view of the jungle and short after that continue (30) thirty minutes drive to Agathis Camp for a (2) two hour walk inside the jungle. Drive back to MBSC for Lunch. 1400 hrs After lunch, afternoon walk to the canopy walkway and trek into the educational trail located next to the river. 1700 hrs Arrive back at the center and continue walking for another (1) one hour around the vicinity in search for wildlife along the main road. Back to the lodge, freshen up and get ready for dinner. 2000 hrs After dinner a night walk for about (2) two hours inside the Nature Trail in search of the nocturnal wildlife, insects, reptiles, amphibians, arachnids and more.

Itinerary Day 3

Itinerary Summary: Birdwatching walk, then drive to Kota Kinabalu with lunch in Keningau Town

Itinerary Description: 0530 hrs Morning Walk for Birdwatching at the vicinity for (1) one-hour (30) minutes. 0800 hrs After breakfast, Check out and drive 7 (seven) hours back to Kota Kinabalu. Lunch at Keningau Town.
