Review Body: We were a little worried about white water rafting with a small 9 year old and a 12 year old. However, as soon as I arrived at Toekad Rafting I could see it was a really well run establishment, with friendly staff and lots of professionalism. We got kitted up and transferred to the River Ayung very quickly. A fantastic walk across paddy fields, and then down steps to get to the base of the gorge left us in awe of this amazing place! Our fantastic guide, Ari, then gave us a safety briefing and instructions on what to do during the experience. Our son was very nervous initially but soon relaxed because it was clear that Ari would not get us into danger, yet we would still have the thrill of going down the rapids. And there were plenty!! We were able to get out and swim for a bit, and made a short pit stop under a waterfall where we were able to get cameras out of the waterproofed bag and take loads of amazing pictures. The scenery was magnificent!! We were in the heart of rainforest, with amazing carvings on the stone walls either side of the river and we just couldn't get enough of it! I wish I'd had my Go Pro as the scenery was just breathtaking! We stopped halfway for a beer - not the kids, obvs, but if you didn't have money they just put it on a tab for you, so you could pay at the end. At the end of the trip, you have to walk back up to the top. It's quite a way, with lots of steps, but we managed it without too much difficulty, and felt shamed at being breathless when we saw the employees carrying boats, lifejackets and helmets on their heads, up the 380 steps to the top!! If you're fit enough to do the rafting, you're fit enough to climb the steps at the end! Once back at the base, we were able to shower and change, before being given a delicious Indonesian buffet with some unbelievably hot sambal sauce!! The sambal sauce is optional, thankfully for the kids!! Photos are taken en route, and we were able to purchase an entire disc of about 90 prints for 250,000 Rp (about £15) and they also print one of the photos out for you free of charge. You could also buy two prints for 150,000 Rp, or a USB drive for 350,000. The photos are excellent quality. We tried to find Ari afterwards to give him a tip, but he had already gone - buy him a beer at the halfway point like we did, he's worth it! Trip Advisor asks us whether there is recommended dress code - Toeked will tell you this, but you need to wear swimwear and suitable shoes (not flip flops - kids had swim shoes on, we had converse - they get soaked, as does the rest of you!). We wore shorts and t-shirts over the top, and took a change of clothing with us, which was safely stowed away in the lockers while we were rafting.
Massive plus for us - we booked on line and they corresponded with us immediately via WhatsApp, and turned up on time to collect us from our hotel and take us directly to the Base. Big relief when you pay in advance. They were really organised, highly professional and genuinely lovely people. Book it!!

Review Body: We decided to go rafting on a whim and simply found these guys via Google. We emailed them late the day before and were able to get in early the next morning, and they did us an amazing price, including transfers from our hotel and lunch, so don't be afraid to negotiate. You go to their shopfront first, where they provide you with a helmet and a locker, you then jump into a van with the other rafters and are driven to their launch site. Here you'll get oars and lifejackets. All of the equipment was in good condition.
From there it's a bit of a hike through the rice patties and jungle, down a steep path to the river. You do need to be fit enough to handle the journey down and back up again at the end! Once in the boat, the guide gave us a quick safety briefing and explained the paddling.
The rapids are fairly tame, but great fun, and the paddling is really minimal, nothing strenuous at all. Everyone had a good laugh and our guide was a blast, very funny and cheeky.
The route you take is beautiful, with rainforest and waterfalls, small inlets and carved canyon walls. Truly a beautiful way to explore the area. We also stopped at a large waterfall where we are able to get out of the boat and stand underneath it.
The trip also stops at a small beach where you can purchase drinks, which are paid for back at base camp at the end.
At the end of the trip you hike up a tall staircase, and walk a few blocks to the starting point where they serve a pleasant buffet lunch. Showers, towels and a changing room are provided and you can access your locker. When we finished lunch we simply asked at the counter and a driver took us back to our hotel.
Great activity, great company! Highly recommend!

Review Body: The experience was very great. The ride we booked was 2h which ended up in 5 hours with pickup and preparation. We have been picked up in Ubud by a private driver which was perfectly in time.
We asked for individual pickup time, which was no issue for them.
At toekat base, they equipped us with a helmet and a lifevest. Their base is in an area where many rafting companies have their base.
They have toilets, showers, lockers, free towels and bags for wet clothes on site
We payed in cash but you can also pay by card.
After being equipped, they drove us in a small group together to the start point. They do not plan the groups upfront but wait for 6 people to fill a boot. No waiting here.
The drive was just 10mins. From the drop off point you have to walk hunderts of stairs down to the river.
At the river boots are already waiting.
Our guide spoke decent English and gave a short but sufficient safety instruction.
We started the ride with many boats of different companies been starting around the same starting points. All have their own bays.
The river was full of boats but not overcrowded. In fact we did some race between the boats which was great fun.
The ride was 2h incl a short 15min break, where you can get a bottle of beer or water (no toilet)
The ride ended right at the base but counted 350 stairs below at the river.
Finally you can have a shower, get your stuff out of a locker and grab some included buffet lunch.
All in all a very nice experience. We always felt safe but we also noticed that especially the stairs are some kind of workout that requires some fitness.

Review Body: Ok guys, so we all know that when we go to Ubud you have to do White Water Rafting. Its nice enough, they are all pretty much the same, the odd Japanese tourist screams with delight as you go over a small bump, but we all do it anyway. Looking for that little bit of extra rush? Something a bit more extreme ? Then this place with their White Water Tubing is the perfect choice. Things seem somehow easier when your in a boat of 6 people and a guide and he yells Boom Boom, paddle, right backwards, to when suddenly, your all alone, in a raft smaller than the size of a bathtub and your heading towards rocks, drops and twists with no front line of defence except good sense. I assure you, that soon flys out the window when your left to your own devices. There is a guide, he is the one at least half a kilometre ahead of you saying come on and you dip, dive, drop and flop off the damm thing. This is a full on thrill seeker experience and one that you do definitely need a good baseline of fitness as there is a lot of paddling to do, and you don't have the other 6 that you can hide from. They have strong currents in the water, so deep, hard paddling is a mist to avoid being sucked through shards and rocks. But very well worth the ride. There is plenty of down time to sit back and chill and just go with the flow, but when the pressure is on, its all hands on deck.
So if your looking for a true extreme sport to do in Bali, and one you can do at the same time as the family and friends do the Rafting option, look no further. An amazing voyage.

Review Body: We booked this as a last minute adventure as it was discounted down to $29 / person which included transport to/from the rafting from our hotel, the rafting which lasted about 2:30hr and a bite to eat. Safe to say our expectations weren't too high for this cost; how wrong we were. We had a brilliant time with our rafting captain Jhon. Just the 2 of us in the raft and the river wasn't in full flow by any means. The walk down is steep and you need to be good on your feet - the walk back up is also steep and quite tough. The scenery is worth all the effort - it is just spectacular. Would not have missed it for the world and cant recommend you do it more highly. Seeing lizards, monkeys and birds all in the jungle is special, along with the natural sights such as the most amazing waterfall which we hopped off the raft and waded under - absolutely breath-taking. The rapids were fun, not too scary and not too boring. I had a couple of swims where we were allowed and of course the impromptu water fight with the other rafters!!
if you are in Bali do this trip - it is brilliant

Review Body: There are lots of companies who offer rafting. You go to a collecting point and there you have to take your helmet, suit and paddles. all you should bring must be waterproof. After some minutes they place in the back of truck (open) and you start the travel, lots of fun in the back of these little trucks. Than you have to walk someting like half an hour on a small track that goes down sometimes very steap. All the way down you start your trip. Some parts its busy and lots of fun to have waterfight with the competitors of your company. We took the 3 hour trip which perfect. Take some small change with you to buy some drinks in the two stops. You can also choose to pay later. At the end of the rip you have to climb up, pfff you will be tired. Than back, shower and enjoy the simple but okay food they offer, thats free. Here they try to sell you the video of your trip. You can see it on a Screen. Lots of fun

Review Body: opted for the morning pick up and our driver arrived right on time, once at the venue we were promptly signed in and kitted out in our rafting gear. Our small group of 5 were then loaded into a mini bus for a short ride to the river. Our guide provided a quick safety speech and talked us through various commands which we used during the activity. We were then on our way down the river, navigated safely throughout by the clearly very experienced guide who ensured the tour was thoroughly enjoyable and fun throughout. This was possibly the best way to see Ubud and the river with numerous amazing views of the river and surrounding greenery along with a number of small waterfalls which the guide deliberately paddled us into for good measure! Overall me and my partner had a great time rafting , we felt safe throughout and had lots of laughs with our group/instructor -defiantly recommend.

Review Body: We saw a brochure for rafting at our hotel in Ubud and someone at the front desk recommended this rafting company so we went on their recommendation...and very glad that we did! We were picked up in the morning and taken down the road to their main location where we paid for rafting adventure, locked up our belongings, and were given the required equipment. We were then driven to the location where we would get down to the river. Which was quite a walk - felt like we walked down nearly a 1000 winding steps! But it was well worth it as it was beautiful walking through the forest down to the river. Our rafting guide was fun, engaging, and entertaining and made our rafting adventure extra enjoyable! Just be prepared to walk UP 1000 steps at the end of the adventure. Overall would highly recommend if you're interested in going rafting!

Review Body: We had an amazing experience with this company. They came to pick us up at our hotel in a private car. They had lockers to keep your valuables and whatever you did want to take with you, you could because they provided you with a waterproof bag. Our guide was Jhon. He was super super friendly and helpful! They make sure you have proper fitting helmets and life jackets and give you a brief lesson before the rafting starts. The whole thing lasts 2 hours! By far the longest whitewater rafting I've done and SOOO FUN!! When you get back they give you nice clean towels, there are clean showers and body wash in the change rooms, and when you come out they have an amazing hot lunch buffet ready for you! Then finally they take you back to your hotel. Super worth it!

Review Body: We did this last week and I had the best time ever. We chose tubing, thinking it was the easier option. But we were slightly wrong. My sister and I were in our own tube with a guide paddling and steering at the back. My husband though was by himself. He had to navigate down 10km of river and Rapids with only a paddle. He got stuck a few times but we performed rescue missions. The rapids are fairly tame but still enough to get the blood pumping. Lunch afterwards was great too, not the most amazing food but just what you need. Be warned, it's about 300 steps down to the river and another 400 at the end to get back up. But you've still got enough adrenaline to get you through! Must do! Ask for the guide Alex, he made it so much fun but I always felt safe!

Review Body: My wife and I rafted for the first time with Toekad. It May is dry season so the water was nice and calm. This is a very easy first time rafting experience and really a good intro to rafting. You arrive to lockers for your belongings. You can bring money or cameras with you as the guide brings a dry bag for your stuff. They give you a quick safety lesson and off you go. You stop mid way for water or soda at your expense. We bought one bottle of water and a coke for 60,000 rupiah. It's worth it to support the shop owners that hike the distance to sell to you.
He excision is about 2 hours before you hike up about 350 steps, shower if you wish and off to lunch!
Bring a change of clothes, little bit of money, and a camera or camera phone.

Review Body: The guide I think his name was Zaieer made our rafting awesome just being super down to earth and funny. They let my wife & I go on our own raft for same price and made paddling a lot easier as was just the 3 of us as we passed all the other unfortunate rafting business with loaded up rafts haha.. stopped had drink and at the end instead of everyone getting out and walking around last large drop Zaieer let my wife and I try it with him we both fell out but we were fine made our whole trip memorable. Afterwards had lunch which was great selection was included and the pickup and dropped back to our hotel. Showers, towels and lockers provided also just wear thongs they tie them to the raft and have wet bag for your electronic devices.

Review Body: Planed @ 22Dec16. but was cancelled due to last night flood. All rafting operator was cancel the service. Toekad tried to exchange the activity to cycling. We tried with my 8th years old son, but we do not like it. so they promise to call us if possible to do rafting @23rd, and they did. it was plan for 2 but Toekad said it is "safe" so I am ok to go for 3, with my 6 y old daughter also. During activity we understand that additional 5 - 7 meter watermark from the flood. it was so scary.... Our captain pak Dicky mention that because the flood all track has changed. We stuck a few times, but Mr. Dicky really know his job. it was crazy and scary, but we were having a great time!!!. yes and the lunch was good.

Review Body: Great hospitality at the reception with a goof introduction and preparation for the day, offering a locker, clean towels and shower area and plastic bags for your wet clothes you can put your other stuff in a waterproof bag with your guide. Well equipped and well trained guides. We had Madi as our guide who made the ride more fun by doing endless tricks. The path down the hill is long and little steep.
You get to swim under the waterfall which was great. After your ride, an Indonesian open buffet lunch is served with great quality and taste. We really enjoyed the food.
A good value for money and the ride is a reasonable distance to suit all rafters capabilities.

Review Body: I've never done water rafting before so at first I was a bit hesitant to sign up for this activity. However, the rapids were not scary at all and the scenery was very nice (bring your gopro and sit in the front row to capture the beautiful view from the boat). Our guide, Geduk was amazing! He was full of energy during the whole trip and had great sense of humor! We paid around $23/ pax and the price included private transport from/to our hotel, all the gears (helmet, paddle...etc) as well as locker, clean towel and lunch. Had to climb down and up lots of stairs before and after the rafting but now that I look back, it wasn't so bad at all :D Highly recommended!

Review Body: We booked or tubing session last minute, on the day, and paid 650k each plus 390k for our transport as we were outside the free pick up zone but it was so worth it! Our guide, Jacky (probs not spelt right!) was great and it was just us and him going down together. Lots of places to stop and get a drink or take photos. Wish I had a waterproof case for my phone, so many amazing photo opportunities. The setting itself is beautiful and saw some monkeys too. One thing I think should be mentioned is the amount of steps down to the river and back up. My boyfriend and I aren't unfit but we struggled in the heat! But overall, A definite highlight of our Bali trip!

Review Body: The whole experience was an adventure and alot of fun for us first timers. The pickup service was on time and a comfortable ride. Lockers, life jackets and helmets were all provided. Note that you have to walk a good number of steps before and after rafting. Our guide Jake was great, very experienced. The river itself is very scenic, loved the waterfalls and stone carvings. We were able to enjoy a couple of Bintangs at a resting point half way down the river. The rafting lasted us a good 2 hours. Shower facilities, towels and a lunch buffet were provided afterwards.Would definitely recommend anyone travelling to Bali to book this in.

Review Body: What a wonderful day rafting with some incredible scenery! I highly recommend doing this--but with two caveats. One, there are a lot--and I mean A LOT--of stairs, both going downhill on the way to the river (through gorgeous rice paddies and jungle) and going uphill when the rafting is finished. Two, you will get wet, so bring a change of clothes for afterward (our hotel said we wouldn't need to so we ended up buying something in the market afterward). One other piece of advice--bring a GoPro! The scenery is unbelievable-waterfalls, carvings in the wall...it's like you're in a movie.

Review Body: My second time enjoy rafting with toekad. First time with office team and second with family. Although the price is afordable compare to the famous competitor doesnt mean they only doing average service in fact i see that the staff very friendly and genuinely helpful, the instructor also very friendly and brings us having great adventure. I recommend to try with toekad. I only have minor feedback for the customer service to explain to customer that rafting is a team work.its not a river sightseing. In my boat there are 2 tourist that is only doing less and thinking they are in venice
